This definitely falls under the category of First World Problems, but what the hell...
I'm going to Philadelphia this September, so I went to the web to buy Phillies tickets. They wouldn't let me! Because I'm from out of state! Now what the hell is this about?
I mean, I was still able to get the tickets (I called the ticket office) but it still pisses me off.

I struggle with my current hobbies and life right now. My wife takes it exceptionally personally that I'm mad at her but I can't quite explain to her that it's a me thing. I hate being another damn midlife crisis statistic, but what else do you call dissatisfaction with life choices at this age?
I know I'm just 30, but I'm suffering from that as well. I installed an app for meeting new people and it was a 1 week free trial and then you had to pay, so I deleted it. Tried another another one, also not free, finally came across a Facebook group. There is a meeting planned next Sunday so I'm hoping it goes well.
Because I lost in interest in 2 of my main hobbies (gaming and binge watching) I don't know what else I'm supposed to do, the rest of my hobbies I don't want do alone (karaoke, bowlen and attending conventions). Mom proposed to invite someone from the psychiatry but I'm not that close yet with somebody, I rather prefer going to that meeting of that Facebook group even though I don't know anyone because it for people who have something in common (not having children). I hate having an introverted, autistic brain, it's literally the worst of two worlds

My best friend isn't even trying at school. I've talked to them about it and they don't care whether they pass the grade or don't. I'm worried as fuck; there's no way they're going to grade. I want to graduate alongside my best friend, but unless they get their shit together immediately that ain't happening. 
Age is not a factor in marriage, except legal requirements. There's no requirement to get married.
This past week has been a challenge to the ego but I've resolved to embrace my weaknesses and the fact that I am where I am in life. I may not like my job, but I do my best and give it my all.

God, my mom's getting too far right in her political opinions. It's not so bad that she likes Trump but it's still bad. I'm going to try to explain why as best as I can because what my country has, another country might not have. You can get cheques if you want to change your job, but only if you've been working for 7 years but that doesn't need to be in the same company.
Our minister of work wants to cut the amount of cheques, mom thinks it's a good idea. The public transport is going to strike a few times, a minister refuses to cater to their demands and my mom immediately likes him because "they should find another job if they don't like it." She also feels like free laptops for school should stop being brought by the school, even though she has a friend who's not that rich, but that doesn't count because she and her kids "deserve it"

I hate it when people have "exceptions" or whatever to right-wing views. If you can make an exception for one person, just make an exception for everybody!
When they give you an extra hour you don't need it, when they take an hour it messes you up.
Recently I heard from an a friend who knows someone with no shortage of money (to put it mildly), so he frequently redecorates his house (and buys new furniture and such).
So he throws the (still quite new) 'old' high-quality furniture out, but since he cannot bear the thought that anyone would have a bit of luck and get his old furniture for free or for a low price, he prefers to have it destroyed.

Where I live, The Goodwill Store, a non-profit organization, will pick up old furniture FOR FREE. Oversized/bulk items put in the city trash will cost you extra. What kind of dumbass would throw stuff out and incur the extra charge, just to be dick?
^ It's not about the money. The things he throws away are still so good they could still fetch a substantial sum on the second hand market, even if it would only be (say) 1/4th of what he paid himself. It's simply that he can't stand the thought that others would have his stuff for a lot less than he paid himself, even if that means he gets no money at all (and perhaps even has to pay some).
I know I got pushback in this very thread, and yes, I get it is not true for literally every wealthy person, but I'm still a believer in the "assholery is directly proportional to wealth" maxim, and the more I hear about them, the more it seems to hold true.
Honest question: how does that work, exactly? Is it a special booking that you have to arrange for, and pay in advance? If not, if the garbage truck rolls up and sees a bulky item, how do they go about charging you for it?
Just curious. For reference, in my city, you have to book a special oversize item collection five days in advance, but there is no specific charge for it. It gets picked up on your regular garbage day, but it's a special truck that comes to get it.
(If you opt to take your furniture directly to the landfill yourself, then there is a fee based on weight of the item.)
Here, you have to call to arrange for a special pick-up, and the company charges a fee based on size/weight and if the materials are considered hazardous.

In the UK it's upto the person hiring the waste disposal to make sure the person they hire is licensed. A lot of 2 men and a van here but the rubbish gets dumped at the roadside or in a farmers field.

When I lived in a neighborhood with trash service they would take it but assess a fee since it's extra work for them vs. the regular bin.
Now, I just haul stuff myself and as long as I'm under the weight limit no fees.
One of my teachers is really annoying and, among a multitude of other things, spends more time shouting at us to look her in the eyes than she does actually teaching us and it gets to the point where I have to focus so hard on making sure my focus never leaves her right eye that I can't really focus on what she's actually saying. She's somehow managed to make me dread my favourite-ever subject.
