I could not disagree more. Hera is great casting, and her part was one of my favorites, aside from Ezra.My problem is they waited to long to get us to Thrawn and Ezra and Ezra should not have been reduced to being a space hippie. More focus on Ray Stevenson and his protegee who were interesting and less time on Morgan Elsbeth because who cares about this character? Wren and Hera were also badly cast. They don't feel like their cartoon versions at all.
Exactly so. Ezra has such a great arc and so interesting. He became such a unique character it was very fun.I really liked scruffy Turtle People tent dweller Ezra. At this point he's spent twelve or thirteen years away from his friends and stranded in another galaxy, so frankly he'd probably be even more different and less recognizable after that long away from everything he'd ever known. The fact he's an adult Ezra but still recognizably Ezra was a real accomplishment by the show.
At the end of the day, "is it making money?" is the only thing that matters in Hollywood, and the simple truth of the matter is the majority of modern Star Wars productions have been pulling in money which is why Kathleen Kennedy gets to keep her job. Your subjective opinion on the quality of these productions does not factor into the equation. From the strictly financial perspective, Solo and The Acolyte are the only failures. And even The Acolyte still managed to be the second highest watched show on Disney+ in 2024 proving that the streaming model itself is what's broken if something can do that well and still be considered a failure.Their is lots of failures, The Sequel trilogy,Obi-Wan,The Acolyte,Ahsoka, Mandalorian season 3,Bobba Fett and even Solo. Granted I am personally not as down on Solo,Mando season 3 as much as others and I also still think Force Awakens is decent but generally I would say these are failures on the creative side. Now the Trilogy I know made money but their is a difference between a good movie that makes money and a bad movie that makes money and that those movies made money simply off the fact they were "Star Wars" and the brand name matters. Quality actually matters and if they kept Kennedy because the Sequel trilogy movies made money then that is a issue with modern corporate mentality where they favor short term gains over long-term stability.
I mean, according to the actor Ezra's mail shirt is made out of stormtrooper dog tags so he's not been idle.To me I don't mind Ezra having changed because their is the passage of time. Just that he should have been doing more than just chillin with the Turtle People. He should have been IMO in active resistance to Thrawn. Maybe he has turned the Turtle people into sort of soldiers. Basically doing Jedi stuff because the cartoon was more focused on him becoming a Jedi than Sabine which was like some tossed in idea at the very end of the cartoon. She was always more fun as this wild spirit freedom fighter who likes to tag things with her painting. I would have tossed out Elsbeth and also Anakin and even Hera and bring the focus down to Ahsoka, Sabine,Ahsoka's David Tennant droid,Ezra,Thrawn, Stevenson and protegee.
And both Iger and one of the writers take the heat for that choice and Solo's failure.IMO Solo was just released at a bad time.
I heard somewhere that LucasFilm wanted to delay it again, but Disney wanted it out.
Maybe Ezra had a "Growth Spurt" during his time missing & away.I thought Sabine was probably the most spot-on casting they did. Except Ezra was taller than her which is a little wtf.

I didn't care for the training droid but definitely liked how Sabine went in relationship to Ahsoka. At the end of the day, the main reason why I watched the show was Ahsoka and I got that.
And one of the best parts is: Huyang was also in The Clone Wars.
The thing with some people not liking the stuff that's been coming out during her time is that, people not liking them are not her fault. As far as I understand it, her job is to hire the people to make to project, or at least to give the OK to the people hiring them, and if you look at these people, on paper hiring them is a fantastic idea, almost all of them have come off of popular, successful projects, and look like they'd be a great fit. And really despite what a very vocal minority likes to claim, most of what's been released has been successful, and even the less successful stuff has still done pretty well.
He's already old enough such that growth spurts should be in the rear view mirror.Maybe Ezra had a "Growth Spurt" during his time missing & away.
Well, Luke and Leia did have a scene together in the prequels...Jayson1 said:Not putting Luke,Leia and Han and the others together again in the Prequels
But wasn't he pretty young when he whisked Thrawn away initially? He's already old enough such that growth spurts should be in the rear view mirror.
