Marvel movies will always be a Theater experience for me. It's a chance to get together with friends and have that communal experience. I been doing that with the same friend since Superman: The Movie. ( the communal experience)
Cinemark shows an ad trying to get you to buy your popcorn online so you don't miss the best part of the movie. (How could you? They show THIRTY MINUTES of previews!!!) The poor sap who ducked out for popcorn during the best part of the movie sits down realizing that he just missed a big deal.

The ad starts with people in slow motion watching a movie, cheering, laughing, crying, their popcorn going up in the air, all hell breaking loose. I am convinced that this was filmed with a crowd watching Endgame. "On your left."

MCU movies 3-day box office opening weekend adjusted for inflation:

"Captain America: Brave New World" has the lowest CinemaScore in MCU history. Lower than "Eternals", "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania" and "The Marvels".

Called it.

Weekday morning. People are working or at school. Mostly I see people of retirement age at the theater at that time.
I go just about every Wednesday. Heart Eyes had about 20 people last week. This is tracking very badly for a Marvel movie.

It's not as bad as some of the reviews make it out to be, but it's certainly not as good as it could have been. A Bucky cameo and using a new Widow was baffling. Not using the Hulk was a choice.

The Leader came across as incredibly goofy. If it took three sets of script writers and reshoots to get to this, I am kind of curious as to how much of a trainwreck it was

Saw it, ended up more excited about my shield popcorn tin then the movie itself. and the cap cup lol.

The movie was OK - felt more like a Disney + series episode/special than an MCU feature film. Definitely missed opportunities in having a quasi sequel to Incredible Hulk and Enternals that does not include the Incredible Hulk or Eternals in any shape or form, Red Hulk and dead celestial excluded. And a Adamantium macguffin that went nowhere, bub.

When describing the movie to friends/co-workers/family, I mentioned how I walked away feeling like I felt when I saw Suicide Squad (2016) or Justice League (2017) - underwhelmed and like I just watched something that was cobbled together in post-production/reshoots.

Each of these movies looked full of promise and twists in the trailers, showcasing a big, blockbuster event in an interconnected universe that in truth is a less-than-thrilling frankenstein of a stand-alone movie with vague interconnected cinematic universe references that can only be summarily described as a very underwhelming experience.

It wasn't a great movie. But I thought it was still pretty decent. I certainly enjoyed it a lot more than "Captain America: Civil War", which remains such a major disappointment for me, to this day.

Thanks for posting the link. That made it super easy, barely an inconvenience.

"Is this a Captain America sequel or an Incredible Hulk sequel?"
"Welllll, sir, that's none of your business!"

"Beating up senior citizens is TIGHT."

"Hey shut up!" (I was assuming that Betty showing up was EXACTLY how it was going to resolve.)
