So considerate of them to comment on a site I didn’t even know had a comment section. For fucks’ sake, this is a pretty critical piece of info that should be sent in a damn email blast to the backers. Two weeks ago they posted the following 'update' in the comments section of the Indiegogo site.

We will provide release dates as soon as we have them. A few of the actors, now having seen the backer premiere cut, want to augment their interview. We’re working on this now, in addition to preparing the special features. We appreciate your support.
So it appears the film is not yet finished. A few months back they were also talking about having to wait for a 'distribution deal' (whatever that means) before blu-rays/digital downloads can be sent out.
I'm sure the documentary will be just fine but the lack of communication and updates is really annoying.
I didn't go for the mug. Kinda regret it now. The fridge magnets are great conversation pieces.Still, at least I have my Janeway coffee mug and Chef Neelix fridge magnets.
Although everyone asks why I have a ginger fridge magnet, and I have to explain that "actually, it's Leola Root"
Because they still want to distribute it beyond the backer copies.I still would like to know why they need a distribution deal when it was crowd funded. Weren't we, the people, the distribution deal?
They couldn’t even get the merch right, haha. The mug wasn't of too great a quality. I stopped using it for fear of the handle coming off. Plus it's not a true Janeway sized cup of coffee. I think it's 8oz and it needs to be at least 16oz.![]()
I find this to be somewhat disturbing beyond the setback to release. Of course, it won't be just filming more interviews (however long that will take), but it's likely the whole documentary will have to be recut. Why would the production company feel that they couldn't say no to the actors or it will be in the DVD extras or something? Not everyone looked good in WWLB, especially Berman and McClugage, but also Alaimo, but those things stuck. Maybe a stronger executive producer would have pushed back, but I am concerned that the actors and creative felt their existing interviews were serious problems."Augment their interview..."
I mean I don't really know what else to say at this point. I feel that those of us that backed this have been more than patient, if perhaps a little pissy at times, but we ponied up the cash to help create this and at this point should have been able to stream the already premiered documentary. Polished DVDs and Blu-rays can come later for those that paid for those but at minimum let us view what others have already seen.
I don't recall who McClugage is
Kerry McCluggage. Then head of Paramount Television, co-founder of UPN.Who was McClugage?
I would never expect weekly.I was wondering this too. Who was McClugage?
Once again, these people on this documentary not actually emailing backers with these updates like they should be doing every single week. These people really do suck at communication.
He's not in it much. He talks about Avery having to have hair because there was concern that with him coming off of A Man Called Hawk that Sisko would come across as "street".I don't recall McClugage even being a part of WWLB, much less what they might have said during the film.
When the interviews are six years apart I think I can be more forgiving, though granted in this case I'm not sure how far apart they are.For what it's worth, the DS9 doc also did "supplementary interviews" as the project rolled along. The original segment of interviews were filmed six years before the final doc release. (To be clear though, those original interviews were shot well before the crowdfunding phase.)

From what I remember they did most of the filming in the summer of 2021, with additional filming in 2022. Last October they said the film was 'complete' and the only thing that was left to were the blu-ray extras. So yeah, these last-minute augmentations seem weird to me. It's almost as if some actors were not entirely happy with their interviews. Apart from that one comment on Indiegogo there is no mention of augmentations on their other channels. When the interviews are six years apart I think I can be more forgiving, though granted in this case I'm not sure how far apart they are.
It doesn't sound as though McClugage said anything that would reflect unfavorably upon him, then. The SiskoHairGate issue was already well-established.
