Hey Propaniacs, hope your weekend is going well. After the yard gets mown, we're all going to Sugarfoots for some of Arlen's finest BBQ loaded with all sorts of Trans-fats. Then we'll crack open a cold Alamo in the alley. See you there. Not too many details about this week's episode, except it's a Peggy episode and it involves real estate. TV.com tells us that Peggy has trouble selling a house when she realizes that the current residents are scaring away the buyers. also The title is an allusion to the play Six Characters in Search of an Author. Oh, and here is an article on the 13th season.
Seems like KOTH is FOX's relief pitcher now...by having it still on the air it can fill the gaps when one of those one-hit wonder shows they stick on Sunday night flops.
Re: King of the Hill 4/6/08: Sic Characters in search of a House Yeah, it takes over for whenever a new Seth Macfarlane failure project bombs.
Well-deserved. This show is consistenly good and entertaining and I'm glad it's not going anywhere anytime soon.
Re: King of the Hill 4/6/08: Six Charachters in search of a House Me too. It went down for a little while, but now it's making a rebound. Man, I can not spell for shit today.
Re: King of the Hill 4/6/08: Six Charachters in search of a House There's plots aplenty for years to come, and KOTH never does the exact same joke twice--there's always a real twist, unlike the Simpsons' V-Day anthology where the spaghetti bit from Lady And The Tramp had been done by Santa's Little Helper years ago. Some possible KOTH plots : 1 - Dale turns on his beloved conspiracy theories, but goes as far in debunking them as he did in believing. 2 - Cotton's video will, nuff said. 3 - Either Leanne returns or at last we meet Luanne's Dad or both. 4 - A blow to the head makes Luanne develop a split personality--the other one is the early season smarter Luanne. 5 - Hank goes on an eco-quest for a propane-powered car.
It was a fair episode tonight. I liked all the guys watching the ballgame in Hanks bedroom because of all the actors in the house creeping him out. Then the whole faking the house being in ill repair bit and Hank not being able to dent up the rain gutters.
I loved Dale's "Don't sit on my bed, don't put on my belts line." Creepy enough for Dale. Good episode tonight. It's refreshing to find a show on television where the wife is the buffoon and not the husband.
agreed on both counts. I think of this show as being very similar to The Andy Griffith Show. Where both Andy and Hank are the voices of reason, and sane men in an insane world with everyone around them off their rocker. Don't forget touring Bills house to see what they need to do to make Hanks house look run down. I could almost see them doing something like that on Andy Griffith.
Hank turns on fan and the microwave comes on.."How dose it even do that?" They sort of did have an episode like that when Barney got into selling houses and talked Andy into moving and in the end they pretty much got out of it by talking down their house(or atleast Opie did).
Although you'd think they'd promote it more - it was a shame last nights promo was SIMPSONS REPEAT thenanewepisodeofkingofthehill AND ANOTHER CHANCE TO SEE THE FAMILY GUY STAR WARS!!!
KOTH is the black sheep of the lineup. It doesn't have the drunk and stoned fratboy demographic the other shows have. Maybe if it was a half hour or random pop culture refrences and left wing rantings, it would be more heavily promoted.
I'm glad to see King of the Hill getting another season. While this season isn't as good as it used to be, it's still pretty good and hasn't taken the nosedive in quality The Simpsons and Family Guy have.
In that scene where her supervisor convinces her to sell her own house, the supervisor came off as rather Strickland-like, except even Hank winces when his unworthy hero-boss pulls something like this. You could tell, Hank really wanted to go off on Peggy and the costs of her casual obsessions. That is another difference between this and the 'Raymond' coterie of shows. Once the buffoonery has commenced its meltdown, Hank does not feel the need to harp on it endlessly.
