LDS: You know what I’d like? An Upper Decks comic…

…featuring the remaining LDS characters after the end of the series, in their new roles as senior officers.

And to reflect the change? Switch to a “realistic” art style and, while keeping a lot of the humor (because that’s who these people are), tone it down enough that it’s basically straightforward Starfleet stories. See how they do as non-cartoony, “real” Star Trek characters (not that they weren’t).

I imagine people might hate this, but I find it appeals.

Okay, now I'm tempted to start a campaign to reanimate Lower Decks with a more realistic style, so other people will be as annoyed as I am whenever anyone says they should reanimate TAS in CGI or something.

But I won't.

I, on the other hand, am quite satisfied with TAS as it is, and LD as it is.

What I'd like to see are some LD novels.

I could see it being interesting as a one off, but I wouldn't want it to be a regular series.

I'm actually much happier with the comics, than I would be with novels. The show was very visual, and it's a lot easier to capture that accurately in comics than it would be in novels.

The comics capture LDS perfectly—it’s just I’d like to see things continue after the series finale.

I'm hoping the ongoing might eventually up past the series, but if they were to do that, I'd want to see them continue in the same style as the show.

And I’d be fine with that, despite what I floated in the OP.

:ack:

I was thinking of the trading card brand by that name.
