Actually, it would be a whole lot of unbelievable. Why would Ilia be in the timeframe of the movie? She was assimilated into V'Ger in TMP.That's not completely unbelievable, actually. Ensign Ilia, maybe? I have no idea how Deltans age.

I think this is the same schematic that's in The Making of Star Trek book. I wonder if the scale is legible in the book version? The closest we ever got to the size of the Enterprise being established in TOS was a display on a monitor that showed the ship in relation to a D7. There was a small scale in the corner that was 100% non-legible on the television.
Beyond that, there has been absolutely nothing canonically shown on screen that shows the size of the ship.

The size of the ship has been a debate since the beginning of the franchise. Especially since they showed a shuttlebay that could not fit within the often mentioned size of 289m.
The refit has been said to be 305m in length, but that has also never been shown on screen. That size has even more issues with things that were shown in TMP. Things like the massive Cargo bay/Shuttlebay complex, as well as the recreation deck, simply don't fit inside a 305m ship. Even the TMP Directors Edition, with updated VFX show show a size that simply doesn't work. The scene of the landing party on the top of the saucer makes this incredibly obvious.
SNW has fixed this situation by bumping the size up to a respectable 442m. A size that solves most issues and even matches a MSD of a Constitution Class that was shown in "In A Mirror Darkly" that depicted a ship of over 400m in length.

I can read the viewscreen and it's the same scale that's in the book (which was what was used for the image.) It puts Enterprise at about 900 feet long (274.32 meters). It is. But if it's not legible on screen, it isn't canon.![]()
Worse is how her ankle got stuck and was fineI'm still wondering why the characters that were out of phase didn't go through the floor. One of a million (or more) issues I have with the writing.
It wasn't legible on the televisions of the time. Not by a long shot. Regardless, the size you stated is even smaller and more problematic than the "official" length of 289m.I can read the viewscreen and it's the same scale that's in the book (which was what was used for the image.) I remember that - it was on one of the bridge screens on the Discovery with the crew complement and all.It wasn't legible on the televisions of the time. Not by a long shot. Regardless, the size you stated is even smaller and more problematic than the "official" length of 289m.
As I mentioned, we also have this cutaway of a Constitution that was seen on screen.![]()
It was originally designed by Doug Drexler for the PC game The Captain's Chair, before being used in Enterprise.
I cannot remember the exact size, but I recall reading that Drexler had attempted to make everything work in terms of the Shuttlebay, deck height, etc. And came up with a ship well over 400m in length.
Strange New Worlds finally came along and canonically gave the ship a length of 442m, as seen on its Dedication plaque, which is legible on screen.

There was an example of the incorrect size being on a screen in Season 2 of Discovery, but that was an admitted mistake as they used the supposed dimensions of the TOS Enterprise, which don't work at all with the updated design of the DSC/SNW Enterprise.
Being there's no numbers, it doesn't really matter. Unless we're saying that the old Bonaventure design from the chronology is that massive. What about this? (Funny how we get back to the size discussion)
No numbers, but you can see how big it is in relation to other ships.

If it's on screen its canon. It doesn't matter canonically.
So, does that mean that there's a mouse in a running wheel powering the warp drive? If it's on screen its canon.![]()
And a big rubber duckie room. So, does that mean that there's a mouse in a running wheel powering the warp drive?
Yeah, there's no visible numbers. If it's on screen its canon.![]()
It doesn't matter canonically.
True. But it's a almost a necessary argument these days as some people will use the size of the Enterprise in Strange New Worlds as proof of an alternate timeline. A notion I do not subscribe to.Nothing in canon really matters. If they want to change it, they'll change it. Which is why I don't understand the importance of it.
Yeah, there's no visible numbers.

Unless you wanna tell me the Defiant class is the size of an Akira. Though at least it shows a more appropriately sized Excelsior.
