"I thought Mike McCarthy would be the head coach, so this is a bit of a surprise for me today that he’s not going to be … It suggests that there's not a real plan. I love the Dallas Cowboys. I played there for 12 years, I wish them well. To say that it’s a coveted job, I’m not sure I would necessarily agree with that." -- Troy Aikman

Holy cow, Darnold looks like a lame duck for the second straight game. Probably not getting a contract extension if they lose.

Because Jerry Jones sat on his hands with McCarthy, the window to interview the Lions and Chiefs coaches has closed until they're eliminated.

Bam!

Rams defense was insane tonight.

I doubt we’ll be able to go into Philly and beat the Eagles, but this was a solid win under bizarre circumstances.

Well done!

:techman:

The Vikings are the first 14-win team to lose in the wild card round. The Vikings and the Saints were 13-win teams to lose in the wild card round.

Sam Darold turned back into a pumpkin when the lights were bright and the competition elite.

So---the vikings losing badly and the texans showing up the chargers were surprises aside from the bucs being the only home wild card to lose -_-

Deion doesn't really seem to fit in with Jerry's philosophy. And by philosophy I mean he's a giant egomaniac who can't stand it when the head coach get credit instead of him. Plus Deion would have no problem calling him out on all his mistakes.

I believe a similar thing happened with Von Miller in his last season at Denver. There was a big pissing contest between him and John Elway (someone else with a legendary ego - was building for years, really) - Von refused to bend the knee and kiss the ring of Jolly Old Saint Elway and he got traded away to the Rams in 2021. Fast forward to just this past Sunday, and there was Miller, now on the Bills (moved there a year later in 2022), who operated as one of the primary defensive instruments of destruction that buried Denver's chances at the championship.

It's amazing how shit like that comes back to haunt a team.

Texans waive WR Diontae Johnson. Apparently while everyone else was celebrating their wild card round win, he was pouting over the lack of playing time and targets.

Guy is a turd. Faster the NFL flushes him, the better. Always be the big dog in the UFL.
