I'm good with that choice. I was hoping for Ben Johnson, but so are most teams with open head coach positions. And I can understand why the Patriots might have ultimately preferred an experienced head coach over another first year coach after what happened last season.
Ben Johnson is a question mark in my book. He has been successful with Goff and co., but that is with Dan Campbell setting the tone for the team.
Will Johnson be able to get guys to buy in when it is his team?
Yeah, questions like that are exactly why I think the Patriots decided to go with Vrabel. Johnson might very well be the next big thing, but I think New England wanted to prioritize experience and stability with their next hire instead of rolling the dice with another rookie head coach.

I would advise Vrabel to be cautious here. McDaniels has never successfully developed a young QB.

He has no relationship with the Jets! He was just one of many who interviewed for the job. The Jets didn't offer him the job. The Pats did.
