Spoilers The Roddenberry Archive brings every iteration of Star Trek’s USS Enterprise bridge to life

And what kind of a world is New Vulcan that lets an old man die alone? Did the Vulcans on New Vulcan blame him so much that they wouldn't be with him at the end?
Maybe Spock requested solitude for his final moments? After all, it stands to reason he's not particularly close to anyone on New Vulcan. The person he'd probably be closest to is the alternate version of his father, who he had a strained relationship with in his own timeline.

Though ultimately, the only reason we see Spock on his deathbed alone in this video is because it served the artistic and narrative intent they were trying to convey. They wanted a moment of Kirk and Spock together one last time without any intrusions, and that's what we got.

BTW, @Jules / OTOY, @Donny or whoever is here that participated: Spock's room is GORGEOUS. It hits that sweet spot that not much of Vulcan design on TV or film has (IMHO) of looking futuristic but primitive, minimal and spartan but comfortable. Logical and beautiful. For whatever reason I thought the fountain in Star Trek III felt like this. The cave that Spock is born in in Star Trek V goes too far in one way. I feel the JJ film goes too far the other way.

Also that ellipse of Spock's bed recalls (to me) the logo that Paramount was using for Generations and all Star Trek in 1994, the ellipse with the delta in it. Kind of a... UNIFYING symbol for Star Trek at the time.

Noone is dead - period in Star Trek. Especially so as they have delved deep in the time traveling storylines. With the likes of Q, the Travelers, time agents etc, they have opened up various probable concepts of bringing back dead characters. Of course, the more standard, time manipulations/storylines are, the more you can make an argument of it diluting the linear " prime universe " and lessening its lasting impact. And that is another discussion.

I believe Dave Blass designed the room, it's a lovely piece of work.

I reject that notion, generally speaking. Spock lived for only five years in the Kelvin timeline. Nero and co. hung around twenty-five years and were just fine.

"Spock was so old though..." Yeah, whatever. ;)
Well, actually dying and being resurrected might have an effect on his post resurrection years.

Most of what you cited that were perceived problems with Spock’s fate happened long before this short video was ever conceived. I get your point about nobody else being around, however maybe they already said their goodbyes before this moment and Kirk was the final visit. We really don’t know.

I think you may be putting a little too much blame on this vid that really had nothing to do with any of what you cited, that was almost all Abramsverse writing. This effort is just simply wrapping up loose ends and untold story lines of two of the most iconic characters in science fiction history that, IMO, deserved a lot more to their endings than what we got on film. This fixes a lot of that.
I don't mean to blame the OTOY folks or their beautiful production with my complaints about the Abramsverse movies or Generations, and looking back now, my post probably belongs in controversial opinions instead of here.

My apologies.

Spock was under extra stress in the Kelvin universe, if not for failing to save Romulus, then how he was subsequently treated. Being elderly did not help. Perhaps he decided it was time to go?

It just doesn't sit right with me and never will the fate of these two friends and heroes.

Not everything has to be dramatically satisfying. Very few deaths are. A quiet end after a lifetime of hard work is the best most people get.

And what kind of a world is New Vulcan that lets an old man die alone?

Given that we see Sarek similarly alone at the end of his life in TNG: "Unification", it's possible that this is just the preferred Vulcan way.

Too be fair, they never thought to film Spock dying, before Leonard died.

Exactly. His offscreen death was kinda necesated due Nimoy’s Passing . In fact, ANY TOS character from the actors who are no longer with us will need to die "offscreen " or just not reveal their fate. With Nimoy, since he dies between Into Darkness and Beyond, it kind makes sense to adress his absence and dedicate the movie to him. Rather than just not mentioning him at all.
