Costumers clearly are more childish: oh you won't do what I ask you to do, let me act like an entitled toddler who has never heard the phrase no

How so? In what way were they acting entitled?

I'm very much a tea drinker, only time of the day I have coffee is after getting my ass out of bed, and maybe one more around the middle part of the morning before noon

Ahoyhoy!

It kinda embarrasses me I only just decided to make an account here as opposed to just circling 'round reddit. Was looking up information on the antares class freighter for a starbase 80 based thing I'm noodling about with and. Welp. 'oh hey that looks neat. Oh wait that's a legit late 90's/early 2000's forum. IT'S STILL ACTIVE?!'

I've been on the internet since the 90's. Why have i not been here sooner?

Heyo, Will, I hope, you're fine?

Oh, and by the way: Whoops, never noticed this threat here, so... erm... yeah.

Servus, how're y'all doing? I'm Cal, in my 40s, and I'm a Trekkie since I was six or seven years old. Of course I'm not just interested in Star Trek, but also Stargate, Star Wars, Battlestar Galactica, Knight Rider, the whole NCIS-Universe, Anime (Yu-Gi-Oh, Ranma, Detective Conan), German Quizshows, the MCU, good DC-Movies, and some German Comedy-Shows. What I don't like is "I'm a celebrity, get me out of here" or "Germany has talent".

Oh, and I write fanfic. Mostly in German, since that's my first language, but I also wrote some short-stories in English.

I agree. Just lamenting the state of education these days. :P

He's open to it, but, that's the thing. There's so much of it out there, where to start. Unfortunately, if you do chronologically, you'll start with Enterprise, which is the worst of it...

BTW, call me Ishy. Apparently Bekk is the lowest Klingon rank.

Alright Ishy.

As for where to start? Honestly?

TOS is a good starting point. Lower Decks also feels kinda solid since while the refrences fly overhead? Its a fun starting point that is optimistic, and overal shows that the franchise isn't above poking fun at itself. Plus it'll be a good way to have them easter egg hunting in OTHER shows like 'Wait that was where lower decks was pulling from?!'

When did people stop saying maths and drop the "s?"

I don't know when this one started but it has been that way for a long time. Sorry just had to vent lol

Here in North America we've just called it "math" for ages. A little Googling tells me the usage first cropped up over here around 1890. So to answer your question, 134 years ago! :)

If more people are now dropping the 's' in Australia, I'd guess it would be largely due to the cultural influence of the United States through movies and television. The same reason the younger generation here is tending more and more to call the last letter of the alphabet 'zee' instead of 'zed'.
