So many variations of Trek on VHS, DVD, and bluray. (and laserdisc, sorry laserdisc aficionados!)
I've always wondered why they repackage and re-release the various shows and movies in same format year after year. Obviously, it's to make $$$, but on the consumer side, how many bluray editions of TOS can they release where its the same content but different packaging?
My current Trekollection:
VHS
Various episodes of VOY, DS9, TNG, and ENT videotaped off of UPN, SCIFI, Spike TV, FOX, and various other local channels that carried Trek back in the day.
DVD
DS9 S1 - S7
VOY S1-S7
ST I - ST X - Director's Editions
Had TNG S1,2,4,5,6,7 but parted ways once the blurays were obtained.
Bluray
ST TMP (4K Director's cut)
ST TOS 50th Anniversary Collectors edition - includes TOS, TAS, and movies I-VI. By far, I think this is the best release of TOS on bluray. The packaging is full of easter eggs and looks great. Each disc has artwork from a prominent episode. Was able to watch TOS from start to finish thanks to this set, and it also contains TOS Movies I-VI. This link sums up the product nicely --
Star Trek 50th Anniversary Collection --
ST TNG S 1 - S7
ST TNG Best of Both Worlds two parter (has audio commentary and I think another special feature or two that are unavailable on the Season 3 bluray)
Enterprise S1 - S4
ST VII - ST X
Star Trek (2009) - Came in a replica of the Kelvin USS Enterprise - great model!
Star Trek into Darkness (3D Bluray, have 3D TV)
Star Trek Beyond (3D bluray/4K, have 3D TV)
Star Trek Discovery Season 1-5
Star Trek Lower Decks Season 1-4
Star Trek Picard Season 1-3
Star Trek Strange New Worlds Season 1-2 (4K)
Galaxy Quest (had DVD, gave to a friend when I got the bluray steelbook)
Documentaries
What We Leave Behind (DS9)
I recently reorganized a lot of my movies collections and segregated all the Trek media to one location, with the exception of 3D movies, which I keep together.
