We sadly mourn the passing of Jeri Taylor who had such a hand in the creation of Captain Kathryn Janeway and Voyager.

I've read her nearly canon novel Mosaic many times. Can't imagine what Voyager would look like if they hadn't had Jeri.

:( Oh no, that sucks. I’m so very thankful for her contributions to Star Trek. Reading about her over the years made me realize how much she’s responsible for some of my favorite things and episodes in the franchise at large, but Voyager in particular. Heck, she (co-)wrote “The Outcase” and “Eye of the Needle” – two of my all-time favorite episodes of television. Together with Dorothy Fontana I think she’s one of the unsung heroines of the first decades of Star Trek.

May she rest in peace.

What on earth is vale. Is this the only discussion thread on her passing?

Trouble is no one knows she's dead, from the lack of replies.

It makes me sad that this pivotal person in Trek's history seems to have gotten little attention here at Trek BBS.

And that's not just the fault of this vale obscureness... why the news is not bouncing around and getting everyone's attention is sad.

Jeri Taylor was an icon in Trek, co-creator of Voyager, custodian of Janeway, author... I think the first and only Trek co-creator. Her contribution was immense.

I've edited the title of this thread in the hope of bringing some additional attention to her passing. Hope that's ok. She is a profound loss to the Trek community and she deserves no less. While she did contribute to other Trek projects in general she had the most influence on VOY.

I just found out. Does anyone have a filmography of everything she worked on? Not much on Wikipedia. 86 is a good run. Do we know why she passed, or just natural causes? I am sure her family and her Trek family are very upset. My heart goes out to everyone. :sigh:
