Law & Order General Discussion Thread

This has basically become the Dick Wolf thread, right?

Dermot Mulroney is the new chief on Chicago Fire..... probably only until Herrmann is promoted to captain and takes the Battalion chief test.

SVU promotes Kevin Kane (Det. Bruno) to series regular.
Greatness!

What is the point of promoting him to a regular when the show can barely handle to give anyone but Benson a storyline?
That’s only because there are so many characters around that really have no business being there in the first place. Like the FBI agent, the IA Captain, etc. They’d never be working in an SVU unit full time.

Perhaps they can be gotten rid of (although I admit I’d miss Curry :adore: ). Then they’d have a normal, regular squad of detectives: Velasco, Bruno, the new one, and Fin. Simple, logical, efficient.

And I almost hate to say this but I like that Rollins is a cop again.

Kelli Giddish will appear in numerous episodes in the upcoming season of SVU, now working for Intelligence.

When they have the SVU and mothership crossover, Maura Tierney and Mariska Hargitay can talk about that hospital in Chicago they used to work at.

I was yesterday years old when I found out that the singer Sabrina Carpenter appeared on SVU.

Charge!TV airs reruns of "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" weeknights 9pm to midnight.
I'd forgotten that this wasn't Tony Goldwyn's first go 'round with the L&O franchise as he appeared several times as Vincent D'Onofrio's brother throughout the course of the series.

I'm liking the new lieutenant on the mothership, and the new SVU detective whose name flees from me.

What about OC, though? Are they having fewer eps than the other series? Just a tad curious as to why it didn't premiere along with the rest of them.

Charge is odd. Instead of cutting to commercial during the breaks that were written into the shows, they cut early and awkwardly, then when they come back there's very little time left, so you see where the commercial break should be and they immediately continue with the next scene.

It's on Peacock and will premiere in 2025. Yea they are, 10 eps.

Benson appears on the mothership to be sanctimonious.

Yep. As per usual. And some of the writing made me roll my eyes. Like butt kissing enough, people? :angryrazz::thumbdown:

And yet, not as bad as ep 2 from last season of SVU or ep 1 of L and O from last season. Those two eps were bad.

--------

This weeks eps were ok, but Olivia was being her usual Hallmark line spewing, hypocritical self.

I need eye roll insurance to watch the show.

and this week we had Kara Thrace for the defence on the mothership though she got shorter thrift that most defense attorneys.

Hell even Sam got pushed aside (just one scene).

And was this the first time we've seen anyone's family member inolved in case since Lenny's daughter died back in the 90s?

That dating app episode was such horseshit.

Did the app even have anything to DO with the plot? Hell, the only place where apps like that even exist are movies starring Scarlett Johansson... and even that one isn't as creepy, because it can break up with you. In this episode, it is literally impossible to break up with Eli. :wtf:

And it just hit me: That one guy whose fianceé leaves him for Eli. They were already engaged, so what the fuck is she doing even using a dating app in the first place? Looks like he's better off without her.

Plus, the guy Laura killed wasn't even her rapist, just some guy who sent her flowers and shit like that. Did it ever occur to her to file a restraining order?

Oh well. Benson was just doing her job, plot-wise: being a sanctimonious know-it-all who never makes mistakes. Hell, she even whispered at one point.

She never DOES make mistakes, does she? I wish she would. Just once. Let her eat a serious helping of CROW.

Just started to watch some of the "newer" episodes. I don't know what to think of Muncy.

And I´m not sure if I should buy Organized Crime on Amazon Prime Video. Any recommendations?
