What happened to Star Trek Magazine

Did everyone get #12 a while back? I never saw any talk of it here, but I never received mine and then kind of forgot about it until today.

Oooh. Can you share any details Greg?

Without giving too much away, it's basically a Sulu/Saavik team-up.

It's funny. I went back to see what kind of relationship they had in the movies only to discover that, honestly, they didn't have one. They barely interact in the TOS movies, mostly because Saavik is usually off with the landing party while Sulu stays aboard the ship.

So I had plenty of room to explore there.

Even before I read the second part of what you said, I was trying to recall the two of them having any meaningful interactions.

Thanks for the info!

Okay, confession time. When I first read that post I thought to myself, "When between the end of the second FYM and the beginning of 'The Wrath of Khan' did Sulu and Saavik have time to interact? Sulu was more than likely a 'stay at home dad' taking care of his daughter Demora; as per Peter David's 'The Captain's Daughter', and Saavik was just a cadet attending the Academy." Then I realized there's time between the end of 'The Final Frontier' and the beginning of 'The Undiscovered Country' as well as post-'The Undiscovered Country' where the two could have interacted. Boy did I feel like I had egg on my face.

Just checked the solicit, yeap:

That's sad to hear.

Since the subscriptions were four issues at a time, I have to resubscribe after issue 12. Hopefully they are offering a half-price renewal since there are only going to be two more.

Weird that the solicitation says it will be available in early December, when issue 12 is just coming out now, in late September.

I don't usually get my physical copy till well after American subscribers do, and I see that people are just starting to receive issue 12 now. But I usually get my digital supplement the same time as everyone else, and I haven't seen it yet. But nobody's mentioned it in this thread, either, so I'm assuming no one has it yet?

My understanding is that the digital supplement is running a little behind schedule.

(And that's really all I know.)

I received a 4 issue subscription renewal via snail mail for $29.99 (saves 24%) which expired in August. Glad I didn't send it in. I wonder how they are going to handle those who subscribed. My subscription ended with issue #12 (which I received) and have yet to receive the digital supplement.

Just got an email from Titan, btw. Apparently subscribers have two options: switch whatever issues are left on your subscription to their STAR WARS magazine, or apply for a refund. Deadline for informing them of your choice is November 1, 2024.

I've also been informed, via another another channel, that my final story for the magazine will be in the digital supplement for #14, with plans to reprint it in a future hardcover collection.
