Random Thoughts...or...What's on Your Mind?

A lot of episodic TV episodes are dependent on the guest star carrying the plot which starts and ends with them, and many of them can act circles around the main cast but you never see them again in other roles because they don't have whatever it is the casting directors want.

I was sitting here talking to my little sister about our grade school and as we reminisced, I realized that I could "see" in my mind what the classrooms looked like, and also the cafeteria, auditorium, playground, etc. I "saw" them as if I was watching a film. My grade school was torn down to put up a Target, years ago, but it is still fresh in my mind. Human brains are amazing in what they can do. When I read books, I "see" the characters and their surroundings and hear them talking, etc. How does the brain put all this together? So amazing.

Should I feel guilty if I qualified for discounted Amazon Prime years ago but am still getting the discount today even though I no longer qualify and haven't for a long time?

Watched an elderly driver stop at a red light, signal right, start to turn right, stop, turn off his turn blinker and then go straight right through the red light.

Oh yeah? Well, I've seen teenagers cruise on through red lights without slowing down. Never a cop around when you need one.

One of the odd things about living in Hawaii that I’ve noticed is that the timing of the traffic lights is set differently or… something.

(I think the pause/wait time for the yellow light is set longer than what one normally sees on the mainland, but haven’t bothered to confirm. Maybe the lights are just to Aloha Time, lol.)

Regardless, after a few days of being/living here, you realize that almost everyone is gunning through the intersections on the yellow, with it turning red as they’re going through or just beforehand.

So, you learn to wait a second or three (if you’re on the crossing street) after your light turns green to allow the (requisite) two or three cars to barrel through before heading into the intersection.

Then you catch yourself doing the same thing later on that day…

Cheers,

I wished my Hubby a "Happy Lammas" today and he said we should watch The Emperor's New Groove tonight.

I had to look up Lammas. The first thing I thought of was this dude.

Turned on the TV and the Major League Rugby championship is on. It's playing at a neutral field and there are so many empty seats. These minor sports need to realize there isn't enough interest to play the championship at a neutral field. UFL football made the same mistake earlier this year.

Oh. My. God. TEH CUTE!!!

Meet Homelander and Hughie in puppy form — 'The Boys' cast is sponsoring a litter of rescue dogs

Antony Starr may play the most terrifying villain on TV right now, but outside of his Homelander costume, he’s charting a much more charitable path. Recently, “The Boys” cast member teamed up with Pups Without Borders, a nonprofit based in Los Angeles that specializes in “rescuing pregnant dogs, nursing litters, and sick and injured puppies.”

At the gym. Someone left their keys and cards at a machine so I took them to the front desk. No one has come looking for them the whole time I’ve been here. I would think this person is still here considering how important keys are.

Haven't posted on this forum for a while. Just got back from Star Trek Las Vegas and I still have to take care of my brother. I wonder when this will start getting overwhelming. It feels like I have to do so much I might have forgotten how to relax, and I'm still getting over a post covid cough.

I did start a rewatch of Stargate Universe last night and got through the first 4 episodes. I watched Atlantis last year and just finished SG1 maybe a month ago. Might as well finish the franchise.

When it gets overwhelming is usually a sign of burnout.

Care for yourself too!

Yeah, that's what I'm afraid of. I have to walk the dog every day, but the hardest part is doing groceries and planning meals because it feels like I have to plan meals for two, and I'm not that great of a chef. I can cook a few things. He tore his pateller tendon in July and can't walk. I'm hoping in the next few months he might be able to.
