More power to you. Not enough for me.
I like both things. There has always been a touch of work place comedy in Trek. Newsome’ s use of DS9 as an inspiration rings true for me. It was dark at times, but no stranger to hijinks

Minus the Star Trek brand, it could be the framework for ANY sitcom.
No, it doesn’t. It doesn’t have anything written all over it because none of it is written. I imagine people said the same thing when they heard a 2 sentence summary of DS9 before it was made. Wait and see.
If Lower Decks can be seen as comedic version of TNG, then I'd be very happy if this turns out to be a comedic version of DS9.
Most stories in Trek are in common settings and beats with Trek stamped on them. It’s what is done with those settings and beats that makes them Star Trek.

I've done the prejudging thing and been burned too many times to dismiss something based off of a bare minimum description.
I try to be positive with Star Trek. Especially since there is so much negativity in Trek Fandom IMHO. I was not excited about Prodigy, gave it a chance, and loved it. I wasn't excited about Academy, but with all the casting news of the "adult cast" I am now very excited. As long as it is not a dumb CW show in space.
This series, I was disappointed about. Why not just keep LD as the Star Trek comedy? My three all time favorite shows are TNG, DS9, and The Office (USA). So I will give it a chance. Maybe I will love it?
Personally, I would much rather watch Legacy, a Shaw spinoff, or a series that takes place in the time between Old Trek movies and TNG. Isn't that called the forgotten years or something?

The Lost Era is what it is branded as for the novels.
Section 31 is in that time period. Who knows might lead to a Garrett led series.
I’ve been mostly pleased with the output. Picard 3 being the only total disappointment.
With three live action shows going, I imagine this will never see the light of day.
Depends on reaction to the SEC31 film and the character. Also what will be on in three years. Might be an opportunity after SNW wraps. Or maybe none at all. Just spit balling.
