Rebel Moon - Part One: A Child of Fire (Zack Snyder, Dec. 22 on Netflix)

Reviews for Part Two are about what you'd expect them to be.

The high(low) light has to be the revelation that Snyder has taken his love of slow-mo to its ultimate expression by shooting scenes of people farming in slow motion.

They're saving the ad money for the very forced marketing of a forced "Snyder Cut".

Hm -- io9's review says both parts are way longer than they need to be (and indeed most of Part 1 is irrelevant to Part 2), and that it would be better if they pared both parts down drastically into a single tighter movie. So instead, they're going to give us a version that's reportedly nearly 50% longer.

Why does the current generation of filmmakers no longer understand how to edit themselves? Does nobody teach how to "kill your darlings" anymore?

Apparently it doesn't have an actual ending and Snyder has plans for six more sequels. Good luck with that one!

Dang, you ninja'd me. I am typing up a review, and yeah, that was the very first part of it. My quick and dirty -- visuall stunning with some original effects. But for a 2 hour movie, it went by fast, and yet felt like little depth on characters (again).

Oh -- and they set up a sequel.

I didn't realize part 2 came out today until I got on Netflix just a few minutes ago. I enjoyed part one, so I'll be watching it.
I was a little surprised to see it's not in the top 10. I have to wonder if all of the talk of the extended cuts killed interest in this version, and everybody who is interested is just going to wait and watch those versions.

It literally dropped today, so I would think it takes at least 24 hours

Wasn’t a fan of part one but I did like part 2. Might give that one a watch

If it's different like the JL Snyder cut.... can some just post the differences? I didn't do a comparison watch of the justice leagues, but didn't feel like a huge difference, other than Cyborg being a cyber stalker in scenes that just felt SUPER OBVIOUSLY filmed in Covid conditions..

I can understand Zack Snyder making his version of JL in the end, because for many reasons he didn't finish it at first. But here, I just don't get it. Why not just make this version straight away?
In any case, I'll check them out. How else am I going to figure out if I like them or not? Base my thoughts on the opinions of others? What kind of sane person does that?
