The D-Con Chamber podcast with Dominic & Connor

I've not seen/heard one of these before (never found the time), but I watched the Robin Curtis episode today and thoroughly enjoyed it. I meant to just have it on in the background while I did something else, but ended up glued to the screen as Robin is just delightful! I've seen a couple of interviews/snippets with her before so I knew she was funny and engaging, and she didn't disappoint.
I'm going to have to go back and listen again because I thought she said something about reprising her role as Saavik in something (which was why she "was in town" for the podcast), but couldn't say anymore and there'd be an announcement in a couple of weeks or so (so around about now?). If I haven't totally misunderstood, then: Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!

EDIT: Yep, at exactly an hour in (on the YouTube ep). Robin says she's in town because someone with the ability to do so has pulled Saavik out of mothballs and we'll know more in a few weeks (her D-Con ep was filmed in mid-June, apparently)! I wonder what it is?

Isn't the Section 31 movie meant to be during the Lost Era/Enterprise C timeframe? Saavik would fit in very neatly in that time period...

Oof! I didn't see your reply when I edited my post, @SCE2Aux, sorry. It would be AWESOME if Saavik is in S31 - I'd watch it if she is (I wasn't going to bother because I loathe how much S31 has been overexposed in Trek).

Section 31 finished filming in March. But she could be doing ADR.

But it could also be for Lower Decks, as they're still doing recording for that.

I'm listening to the interview now great to see both Terry Matalas and Ed Speelers I wish we'd get a Sequel to Picard .I like Jack Crusher I'd like to him again in star Trek again.

It really was an enjoyable season of Picard, I liked Jack and all the new cast.

Good interview this week, although it just underlines how difficult it must be to be an actor - the uncertainty of not knowing if you're getting any new work coming in, or constantly having the rug pulled from under you would make me a nervous wreck.

There is a speech David Tennant once did at a graduation. He said, only become an actor if you must. If you feel the need to go out there on a stage (or set). If there is anything else in life you can do, rather do that. As acting is not for the faint of heart. Even he, with all his income still worries about supporting his family, wife and kids.

And you need to be able to deal with the constant rejection at auditions and not getting the part.

Makes sense. I was watching a youtube playlist yesterday called 'making ____ was a sh*tshow", and they talk about how films were made and how difficult it is. Even amazing films like The Fugitive or The Bourne Identity were completely dysfunctional behind the scenes.

It's why I like stuff like the D-Con Chamber, especially when they interview showrunners and producers and like - they talk about how amazing work can come out of such chaos.

I liked Jack too but I do not want to see him again if what we get is what Malalas set up at the end of Picard. Jack fresh out of the academy getting the third center seat? There is no way justifying that in universe, it's just completely unbelievable.

I listened tot he D-con chamber interview Peyton List who played a Romulan agent in Picard season 1 it was really interesting about hearing her talking about her fight scenes she did with the dangerous stunts with Jeri Ryan on the Borg cube and how difficult it was filming in the narrow set and the stunt people doing the wire work and how dangerous the fight scene was. She was also talking about learning the Romulan Language and how hard it was to speak it correctly and filming the scenes without making mistakes.

Ha, that's cool. I had no idea they had been in the same thing.

...to the extent that it turns out they were both voices in Batman: Hush and I never noticed! :D

Yeah she mentions playing a live version of Poison Ivy and that she had a 2;45 am makeup to have red hair gel put in her hair and it took over 3 just do the hair and the makeup and how exhausting to do it every day when she filmed the Batman show.

LOVE Peyton List.

She starred in the captivating series The Tomorrow People on CW, which of course was cancelled after the first season.

I'm also a fan of Mad Men and she was I think the most gorgeous woman on that entire show.
