I just saw PMJ last week here in Albuquerque. Wish they had played that. It was an astounding show and I highly recommend everyone to see them if they can.

I just recently watched ST for the first time. Don't know why it took me so long to get around to it, but it just did. I really got hooked in and can't wait for season 5. Just wish it wasn't going to take so long to get to!

@The Nth Doctor - We were happy with the TV version of Hamilton too, until we had the chance to see it live here in ABQ. Completely different experience. We were absolutely blown away. Sorry you haven't had a chance to see it that way.

For those who don't like Argyle, you'll be happy to know that Eduardo Franco says he's probably not returning:

“It’s nice to hear that there’s some sort of concern or something, you know what I mean,” Franco answered. “But I never got a phone call, so I think … yeah, I think that’s it.”
I'm one of the few people who enjoyed the character but I didn't need him to return. I want things to scale down back to the core group. Of course, based on the tweeted group photo of everyone (including Linda Hamilton!), it doesn't look like they're scaling down that much.

As part of a larger interview with her, io9 talked with Linda Hamilton about her experience working on the show's fifth and final season:

io9: You said when the casting was announced that you’re a huge Stranger Things fan. What’s it like joining a show that you already love and that already has such a huge fan base?

Hamilton: Altogether different from anything else I’ve done. I really felt like, [is] there a place for me in that show? Having watched it for four seasons and loving it so much—I thought, I don’t belong there. That’s their world. It’s really interesting [to] try to insert yourself in a story that you know very well. It was a little odd for me; I felt a little bit of the imposter syndrome there. But we’re making it work. I’m delighted and having a wonderful time on that show.

io9: As we’ve seen from previous seasons with actors like Paul Reiser and Robert England, Stranger Things loves to cast performers who are known for a certain genre, to sort of wink at fans of the genre and capture some of that affection for their earlier projects. Without getting into spoilers—would you say that’s the case with your role in season five?

Hamilton: Yes. [Laughs.] Yes. They’ve created a good place for me. And I’m going to run with it.

io9: We can assume, especially since this is Stranger Things’ final season, you’ll have to sit on some major spoilers until the show airs. What’s that experience like for you as a performer, not being able to reveal specifics about what you’re working on?

Hamilton: I tend to be an open book and will say anything. I mean, I don’t have much of a filter. I’m not image-oriented, so I don’t protect myself. Ridiculous, in today’s world. But I now have people that will text me and go, “Where are you now? Or can you say?” They all know that everything I’m doing is kind of shrouded in mystery. And I am so careful with the scripts—if I print one out, I bring it to [the production company] to shred. They don’t really encourage anyone just to print out a script, but I’m kind of old school; I just love to see it written as opposed to on my computer. The pressure that comes with protecting all of their secrets is interesting. But I’m doing it! I don’t want to be the one that lets the cat out of the bag.

Really? Showed up in a recent BleedingCool update, which was about a recent interview/Set visit that didn't actually reveal anything, so I didn't share that part. But on second thought, maybe I didn't read thoroughly enough, as I took the photo to be released with said set report.

We now have a trailer for the London theater production, Stranger Things: The First Shadow, which premiered last December:

It's a shame I'll never get to see it in person but I do hope Netflix will release a recording of one of the performances at some point.

For those who didn't like long the longer episodes of the previous season, Maya Hawke may have some bad news for you (per Podcrushed via Comic Book):

"We're making, basically, eight movies," Hawke said on the Podcrushed podcast, adding that the final season's episodes are "very long."
"Season 4 and season 5 are very connected," she explained. "Season 4 had a part I and part II because they separated them, so the last two episodes came out at a different time, which is unusual for streaming. But this is its own season. It is a continuation, but it's the finale. And it has been a long time since last season."
I'm probably in the minority but I'm all for it. I just hope the show will be able to conclude in a satisfying manner.

I am just on season 3 so I have not gotten to the longer episodes yet. Trying to get caught up before season 5 comes out so I can watch them together with my daughter who is a big fan and seen all the episodes multiple times. I will be disappointed if I get to the end of the show and they did not play Rush somewhere.

I didn't mind the longer episodes last season, and with this being the final season, I'm all for going as big as the possibly can.

They're currently halfway through filming season five:

Not much to see here, but it's still great to hear how excited everyone is about the final season, including big fan Linda Hamilton!

When did they start filming? I was thinking they'd been at it long enough to the farther than that by now.

They were about to start filming when the strikes hit. They finally started filming on January 8...which I mentioned a dozen posts ago. ;)

Do you guys think any of the actors will make it after the show ends? Or is this will be their biggest role in their careers?
