Last Classic Who Story you watched

Or perhaps it was her experiences as a journalist covering war zones and crime scenes and seeing the consequences of gun violence. We shouldn't forget that characters can have lives beyond their onscreen experiences. It's not like she was just floating in limbo between K9 and Company and "School Reunion."

Also, wasn't she killed by being shot in one of the NAs?

Might be a bit of timeline leakage going on.

Googles: Bullet Time, she gets shot and is later implied to flatline. But was stated to own a kevlar vest. The Doctor's goodbye is ambiguous as to whether he's laying her to rest or simply saying he won't see her again after faking her death, but the author has stated the former was his intent.

Sarah's death in that story was undone in "Sometime Never..." I could see there being some sort of temporal leakage involved in her memories, much like Ruby and the events of "73 Yards".

There was a reason I use the word "supposed" in that sentence. The same listing now claims to have 17 copies available.

In the US Amazon also has "Doctor Who: The Animated Collection" DVD, which includes Dreamland/The Infinite Quest (two animated 10th Doctor adventures), The Power of the Daleks & Shada Animated releases, and (of course) The Scream of Shalka. If anyone is interested in even two of those stories (and doesn't care about a lack of special features) its worth getting this because its only about $3 more then the individual Shalka release right now.

Grr! Arrgh! :brickwall:

Thanks for the info, I might pick that up anyway. I know someone who I could gift my "Shalka" to.

ETA: of course, the only two of the stories in that set that I don't already own are the David Tennant stories. And I saw those on Hulu way way back when Hulu actually had Doctor Who.

Just rewatched The Time Meddler (while finishing off my Hartnell Season 2 Blu Ray). Its a solid if a bit unremarkable story, the best thing about it is The Monk, and finally meeting someone else from the same place as The Doctor. Steven fits into the TARDIS crew fairly well in his first outing as a companion, and The Doctor and Vicki are always good. The story with the British and the viking characters ia a bit "meh", but it works ok as a plot for The Monk to get involved with. I still like the story overall on rewatch.

I got the Jon Pertwee Season 2 (Doctor Who Season 8) Blu Ray at the same time I got the Hartnell Season 2 one, so thats probably what I'll watch next, well rewatch because I've seen all the serials in that set before, I just hadn't owned them until recently.

I've rewatched Terror of the Autons. Its a really good story, and Delgado just was The Master from his first scene. The story did a good job of making the autons threatening, even if some of the effects were goofy. Jo Grant also had a decent introduction, I think she's probably the least interesting of Pertwee's three companions but she's ok. It was nice to see so much location shooting, I think that there might have been more location shooting in this one story then in the majority of the latest NuWho season  Overall a very solid start to the season, and a story I enjoy just as much on rewatch.

I finally watched Scream of the Shalka and enjoyed it greatly. Richard E Grant made a great Doctor and it is indeed truly a shame that they never got to make any more stories with this Doctor.

It set up an intriguing backstory with the tragedy of the lost companion and how that had affected the Doctor. Similar, now that I think about it, how the new show started off with a tragedy of the Time War in the Doctor's past.

The Master was fun (and that's something I never thought I'd ever say). That's another piece of backstory that I would love to see filled in somehow, somewhere. Alas...

While I have my Pertwee Season 2 Blu Ray to keep going through, I've decided I want to finally finish off the 5th Doctors era, starting with The Awakening. The best thing I can say about this story is that its short, and the face in the wall looked good. besides that it was just kind of dull, if it had been any more then two episodes it would have been really rough to get through.

Only three more 5th Doctor stories left to watch (Frontios, Resurrection of the Daleks and Planet of Fire, specifically) and I'll have seen the whole 15th Doctor era.

I am almost finished my Pertwee era run and TOTA was a great story, had not seen it in years so i really enjoyed it.

Watched Frontios. I don';t have much to say, really. It wasn't very good, the overall story was boring and the aliens looked terrible (just kind of generic cheap looking caterpillar looking aliens). Turlough was also annoying, although at least Tegan was mostly a non factor. The Doctor was fine. The TARDIS being "destroyed" was almost an interesting plot point but didn't quite reach that level. A very forgettable, mediocre story.

Resurrection of the Daleks is finished. I have to say that most Dalek stories post-Genesis seem to be fairly mediocre, I think that Remembrance is the only Dalek story post-Genesis that I'd say is outright good. As for Resurrection, its nothing special. We got a decent Davros again, but the story isn't all that interesting, and a bit hard to follow at points. Tegan is pointless and Turlough is useless, but we do see Tegan leave, which is nice (although I only have one 5th Doctor story left to watch, so there isn't much 5th Doctor to enjoy without having to suffer through Tegan being there). OVerall a forgettable episode.

Next up is the last 5th doctor story that I haven't seen, Planet of Fire. I know that it has my favorite Master (Ainley) and introduces Peri, so hopefully its a solid story.

Planet of Fire has been watched, and with it I've seen all of the 5th Doctor's era. Overall the story was mediocre, but I've seen worse. Ainley is still greast as The Master, and we finally got to see Kamelion do something. I think this is the only time where The Doctor has purposefully killed a companion, and he certainly wasn't too torn up about it. Maybe the 5th Doctor was secretly a sociopath, but we just never got to see that side of him  Peri was fine, she was mostly just walking around and dealing with The Master. Seeing The Master all shrunk down was entertaining. Turlough finally leaves, and much like his whole rune I didn't really care. Overall this wasn't a total dud, but it wasn't that interesting.

So, the 5th Doctor's overall era was...tolerably mediocre for the most part, in my opinion. It had some stand out stories, my favorites being (in no particular order): Earthshock, The King's Demons, The Five Doctors, Warriors of the Deep and The Caves of Androzani. The Doctor himself is just kind of there, I like him well enough but he frequently feels way too passive. The 13th Doctor has a similar feel, although I think that the 5th was generally more proactive then the 13th. The companions weren't great. Nyssa was by far the best companion, but she got shoved off early (presumably because the show has issues with writing for smart companions that aren't Romana). Adric sucked and got the fate he deserved. Tegan is one of the worst Classic who companions and probably the biggest whiner, she was just constantly complaining and it got really tiring. Turlough was boring outside of his originally premise of a wanna be Doctor assassin, Peri barely counts as a 5th Doctor companion and Kamelion was barely a prop.

I'd say that overall the 5th Doctor era is my least favorite Classic who era. The 7th Doctor's era annoyed me more but it also had a bit more ambition and "bite" that puts it ahead. Now all I have left is the 1st and 2nd Doctors eras, although I have over 10 stories each to watch from both of those Doctors so it will be awhile before I'm totally through with Classic Who.

Just finished The Sensorites. I didn't like it, I found it boring and very padded at six episodes. I don't have much to say, the Sensorites weren't interesting as aliens, the plot could easily have been four episodes (but still would have been mediocre) and overall I just didn't enjoy it.

I was today years old when I found out that there's a Classic Dr. Who channel available with Prime! I'm currently watching the original Dalek Invasion of Earth. Very cool!

Maybe so. They're shown live, so unfortunately you have to pick them up wherever they are in the broadcast and can't rewind. But still.. Pretty cool!

There was a book storyline at the time of the Doctor's timeline being altered. Sarah died, Mel was murdered, Harry was shot after becoming a werewolf. And so on.

Harry was shot after becoming a werewolf.
