What are your controversial Star Trek opinions?

There are plenty of rubbish and failed human colonies in Star Trek, so there's room for Orions and human pirates.

In the Star Fleet Battles game there is a group called the "Wyn Cluster." This group is not a unique species but is a group of renegades and pirates that live together in a star cluster in a nebula.

Michael Burnham had the potential to become one of Star Trek’s greatest and most fun characters but never quite achieved that due to poor writing
Oh, and Season Four of Discovery is the worst season of Star Trek ever produced

I think everyone in season 4 of Star Trek Discovery were probably overreacting.

the Black matter explosions were probably just big farts released from those space aliens

I disagree. Michael is a study in overcoming. She gradually makes her way from mutineer and prisoner to Captain. I found her endlessly fascinating.

I also loved DIS season 4. I adored having truly alien aliens and working out a way to communicate with them.

the gays are controlling Star Trek shows now.

half or most of the cast in Discovery are gay, binary/transgendered which is ridiculous

Okaaaay. The people who "control" the show would be the show runners.. To my knowledge Michelle Paradise is the only LGBQT+ show runner.
So what if half the cast is LGBTQ+? Why is that "ridiculous"? Half the cast of TOS were Jewish. Is that ridiculous? Half the cast of DS9 were non-white. Is that ridiculous?

Yeah, you can go ahead and keep your homophobia out of this forum and off this board.
I'm not homophobic. I'm just stating a fact that the cast they are gay or binary/trans. its bonkers since they cram the whole thing with Blu's human host character and "Their" Trill boyfriend or whatever the dead Trill ghost lover is supposed to be

What’s actually ridiculous is a science-fiction franchise portraying a progressive world of “Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations“ that constantly likes to pat its own back for how groundbreaking it thinks it is and yet spends decades (!) worth of shows either hiding LGBTQ+ people behind allegories or literally hiding them as in just not even wanting to show something as banal as a same-sex couple holding hands in the fucking background.

What’s also ridiculous is Star Trek fans being triggered by “teh gayz”.

Star Trek is not as progressive as it likes to project. What's more disappointing is that it's few accolades around its representation ignores the past history of just not acknowledging it and that Star Trek should still be considered progressive when it's really not.

Starting a post out with “the gays” is questionable right out of the gate.

Misstating how many people on Discovery are LGBT (“half or most”) doesn’t help your case.

Calling it “ridiculous” is the final straw. A negative value judgment that belies your denials.

We don’t allow stuff like that here.

Now knock it off or you’ll receive a formal warning.

Moving on.
