Lower Decks Final Season: What Do You Hope to See?

As for the very final scene, let's have a completely unrelated episode, and then a background character...

Admiral Buenamigo: Computer, end simulation (Buenamigo smiles proudly and walks away from the holodeck)

And then that scene is halted

Mariner: Computer, stop simulation! Really, Boims? Is this the better ending you could come up with for the Vindictaverse? All a simulation of a character from another series? You can do something better! Something like an army of small shuttles against a Dominion battle station, and then one manages to blow up the reactor! A dying Q snaps his fingers and all the Jem'A'Dar turn into dust! An all-out battle between our universe and the Mirror universe! Paris and Torres crying because their baby has died! Anything but this!
Boimler: I'm sure I have seen those endings at some holonovels... what about a deal with the devil, but as a musical? Would that work as a series finale?
Mariner: You're a lost cause, Boims!

Unless there is time travel, that isn't happening. Prodigy is still a couple years ahead of Lower Decks
While this is true, there would be absolutely nothing preventing LD characters from appearing in a hypothetical third season of PRO ;) Tendi would be an especially great fit with that cast, being that she too was an outsider not that long ago.

That and I think she wouldn't fangirl out every time she passed Admiral Janeway in the passageways like Boimler and even Mariner would haha

I know we'd be skipping ahead with the "Lower Decks does the Trek-movie poster" pastiche, but can you imagine a  Generations-inspired poster for a Prodigy and LD crossover movie? Instead of Kirk and Picard, you have Boimler and Dal, or even Mariner and Janeway.

Imagine it. (Spoilered for size)

The mystery behind Mariner name, as in why she doesn't go by Freeman.
Well, we know why she doesn’t go by Freeman, because otherwise it wouldn’t have been so easy to keep it a secret that the captain was her mother early in the show. ;)

As for where the name Mariner comes from, I think there’s three theories that would make sense: (1.) Mariner is her mother’s or her father’s surname at birth and she adopted it as her own surname. (2.) She could just have made it up. Or (3.) it’s actually her middle name which she turned into her surname, which would make a certain amount of sense, because Mariner is actually the middle name of Mike McMahan’s sister Beckett Mariner McMahan, after which the character is named.
