Robert Bonchune did add the artwork to some later renders of the design. It looked great. Did they ever say why they didn't add the artwork for the episode?

Really like the design too but I can't stop seeing Enterprise's warp core. And also the SS Conestoga, which might look a little bulky, but for some reason has that sense of realism about it. That command center section looks so damn cool …

Might as well bring up the Romulan Drone Ship. It's an interesting design that actually reminds me of the Narada from Star Trek '09. Perhaps they share a design firm within the Romulan Star Empire.
They also make it somewhat more believable that no humans ever recovered any bodies from destroyed Romulan ships during the war.

For all we know, that's what the Romulans call all their ships. Kinda like Starfleet and "Starship."It's even referred to as a 'warbird' in dialogue, which it looks nothing like.

Meh. I'm still ok with it. If only because Star Trek has basically been doing that exact thing since the 60's. It's in our blood.Thats all fine and good, but it doesn't change the fact that they just recycled an alien ship from a show taking place 200 years later, rather than either a) reusing the BoP CGI model they used previously, or b) making a new CGI model specifically meant to be a remote-controlled Romulan warship.

A bird was drawn up for it. But the studio did not want the bird. They thought it clashed with the design ethos of the show.
One also gets a barely visible cameo in Star Trek BeyondHow about some love for the good ol' Starfleet Shuttlepod. I loved these little guys from the minute I saw one. They're small and primitive looking. Exactly what I'd expect of the era.
Yeah, I remember catching that in theaters and getting a real sense of happiness upon seeing it.One also gets a barely visible cameo in Star Trek Beyond
