What's the last TNG episode you'd watched, with mini-review?

I agree about the "Masterpiece Society." I'd even rate it a little bit higher, maybe 9/10. "Clues" is also one of the absolute best.

I like thoughtful episodes like these. They're both probably in my top 12 TNG episodes.

Doing a re-watch of selected season one episodes.

Watched Symbiosis
I've always liked this episode, despite its completely non-subtle anti-drug messages. However, you have to consider that this episode was made during the Reagan, "just say no" era. I don't have a problem with it as I believe our society has become too permissive concerning legalizing vice (recreational marijuana and gambling) simply because it's a revenue generator. All anyone can see is dollar signs. You have to wonder what vice is next.

Getting back to the episode, I like its use of the Prime Directive and I completely agree with Picard's speech to Beverly in the elevator uh, I mean turbo lift. He's completely correct. The aliens having the ability to generate electricity is pretty cool as well

Watched Skin of Evil
You have to wonder what they would have done with Tasha had Denise Crosby stayed. This episode does show what could have been a fledgling friendship between her and Worf. It's clear he views her with respect and admiration. I guess we will never know. A Worf/Tasha one-two security punch could have been interesting.

I liked Armus. It was a very TOS-like monster. I consider it one of the truly missed opportunities in TNG that they did not continue the idea of space exploration that permeated the original series. It needn't have been a "five-year mission" but they could have focussed on that more instead of making so many bland stories that came later in the later seasons.

Watched We'll Always Have Paris
Yowza! Michelle Phillips was easy on the eyes, wasn't she? Anyhoo, another good TOS-like story. There's a problem with the universe and the Enterprise crew is tasked with saving all our bacon. I can just imagine Kirk and crew being the ones who patched the rift in the temporal anomaly, or whatever the hell that thing was.

Watched "Holllow Pursuits"

The Good:
- Introduced Barclay, who's awesome. As an autism spectrum individual with severe social phobias, I can empathize with him.
- Great change of pace for the crew, playing their holodeck alter egos. And some amusing scenes.
- An engaging mystery that slowly develops into a unique threat.
- We get to hear Troi say "Muzzle it."
- The ending was well done.

The Bad:
- Not much, really. Maybe they could have dispensed with Picard calling him "Broccoli".

.

Just curious but was it ever revealed that Barclay was somewhere on the autism spectrum? I never heard that and assuming based on his behavior may be incorrect.
As someone who grew up painfully shy and withdrawn (but with no autism), I can also identify with Barclay.

I just watched "Clues" the other day.

One thing that always bothered me about is for how in-depth the deception was, they also left some weird things out. Like why tell the crew they were unconscious for like a second? Just have Data tell them they were out for the amount of time they were out. Then they don't have to dick around with the clocks and everything, and at SOME POINT they will realize they are out of sync with others.
