Sci-fi World opening May 27th - Is this real?

So not only does the site above have NO actual images of the "exhibits" they are planning on showing off (one is an image of a wax museum TOS bridge display from years ago, and the TNG bridge is just stock footage from Star Trek: The Tour) but if I recall correctly, the guy who rescued the TNG bridge set around which this whole museum was originally based was arrested several years ago for some super gross stuff that I won't discuss publicly because it is super disgusting. So what is this all about? Does anyone have any idea if there was a team aside from the guy mentioned above who continued on without him? And is there in fact a museum of Sci fi stuff with the Star Trek bridge sets as exhibits? This whole thing just reeks of shady.

I hope it's Star Trek's answer to the Willy Wonka Experience.

I sincerely hope not. That was an absolute disaster from what I've heard.

I've been following them for years and was even offered a pretty high position. They're legit, just understaffed and a bit overwhelmed. They started as the TNG bridge restoration project.

Hmmm...sounds intriguing. I'm the first to admit I would love to see the TNG bridge set again, and (if it's allowed) get pictures in the captain's chair. I have a picture taken of when I went to see Star Trek: The Experience bridge back in '08 but I was super skinny and wearing baggy clothes which looked more to be in the same color scheme as the TMP uniforms, so I've been itching for another chance ever since.

Let's learn something important about the man behind this:

I know it's alluded to in the OP, I just want everyone to know who they're supporting visiting this venture.

In all honesty, I thought he was still in jail and someone else was running the museum. Now that I know that is not the case, I will definitely NOT be going.

Also, how the hell are they gonna let a registered sex offender run a museum? I feel like there should be full disclosure at the entrance. Like, "Hello, welcome to the Sci Fi Museum, our founder is a registered sex offender, enter at your own risk". Like others have said, I hope this entire thing tanks massively. I love Star Trek and would love a sci fi museum someday, but not one operated by a person like that.

I know sex offenders infest all walks of life, but I'm always much more disappointed when it's one of "us".

Star Trek appeals to that "type" unfortunately....

I can't Google the link as I'm at work but there was some link between Star Trek fans and "that" - the world appeals to them for some reason.
