Mark R. Gaebler

Canon.
Hirogen.
Spelling is important.

This could still make a good stand alone series with different names etc. you just need a little prequel setup stuff.

Like Serveaux I'll leave this thread now. Good luck.

But do TV audiences want this? TV is, first and foremost, a business.
This is my first question. Is this something that will appeal to a broader audience. Not just Trek fans, not just a select group on the Internet, but something that can have enough appeal to sell?

Second, there is no reason to assume that Paramount needs to take this just because fans push for it. I think there is potential in the idea, but also the question is does it fill a niche they want to fill?

Finally,

Something like this might make for a big budget fan production but as prone to universe-ending apocalyptic plots as current Trek often is I don't think this is the kind of story that the audience is asking for outside of, say, novels, comics or fan films.
Yeah, that's the big question.

No one hates Star Trek quite like a Trekkie does.

took us over a decade of research so don't make lite of our work. Jokes are very much inappropriate in this case. If that's your cup of tea, drink it somewhere else. This is our future not your laughing board.

Sir, while I applaud your passion and energy, you’re really in the wrong place to sell unsolicited pitches to anyone here. Most of us have been here for going on 25 years now. There are literally professional Trek writers with published novels that haven’t been able to get into an established writers room much less pitch an entire new series. Good luck to you, but this is not the way.

Okay, here's something since we can't post images. The story involves Romulans, Klingons, humans, Gorn, and several other species, all having to survive together against several enemies, solve mysteries, and deal with both the past and an uncertain future. The kicker is they have to do it on a ship they have to keep from falling apart and they are at the mercy of the Q continuum and an enemy that has been around for 2 billion years and who just now has revealed its power by tearing the galaxy apart. This is what this throw-together crew of bitter enemies has to deal with while running for their lives. Does that give you a hint? This series even involves all the quadrants of the galaxy and the most mysterious of them all - the Guardian of Forever and what is called the 'Before War".

Any love instructors? As the Great Bird wanted.

I am inclined to agree with Kenny here.

It is just never gonna fly as a professional project with CBS/Paramount's blessing, unless you know someone in the business that has an interest in helping you get a foot in the door.
(even then it won't be guaranteed)
That's just the reality of how things work in Hollywood.

So if you really want to see it come to life, use your own resources that you've been gathering together for however long you've been working on it and make a fan production of your own.
(of course staying within the legal requirements that have already been established by the IP Owner)

Let your dream fly by your own hand, or watch it die in frustration.

I'm pretty sure even the people who DO submit scripts for the canonical series don't get them all approved and many have failures in addition to the proud successes. Open submissions isn't a regular and universal thing and it's for the best. Sure, you might get the next City on the Edge of Forever in a spec script from a random no-name writer in the middle of nowhere but you're just as likely to get a spec script that never gets read by anybody in a position of authority.

It's a business, not a charity. Even great ideas get rejected by businesses who don't have the time nor the interest even if you think they should.

When you're already spelling it as cannon and not canon.... When your spelling of Hirogen is wrong... I find it hard to believe there is a decade of research behind this.
Look, I really think it's awesome that you created a fanfiction and are very enthusiastic about it. But Paramount/CBS is NOT looking at fans when they want to create new shows. They are not reading submitted proposals, they are not secretly reading forums and looking at YouTube content to see if someone created what they believe might be a new show.
If you want to this made, it's far easier to write it as a fanfiction or even make your own sets and costumes and buy equipment like camera's, lights, microphones and what not. Look for actors, fellow fans who are equally passionate as you really seem to be. And make this. You'll end up having more fun than actually trying to get Paramount to do anything with your concept.
