"Star Trek: Legacy" & (≥ 25th Century please)
Which were odd, as they seemed to be narrating events as they happened!!!!And yet we have the narration of the Captain's log since TOS....
What has the 4th wall done for me lately?
Besides, I can hear it now... "Star... GAZ-ER! Gazing on the stars..."![]()
Just because Kirk narrates in present tense doesn't mean they don't happen in the past. (See what I did here.Which were odd, as they seemed to be narrating events as they happened!!!!
Sounds like someone doesn't know what the fourth wall is. But complainers like to latch on to terms they don't understand and then swing them like a club.Previously on What are your controversial Star Trek opinions?:
A Star Trek musical was considered bad because it broke the fourth wall (which was apparently not done elsewhere). It was kind of an arc.
Except when McCoy did it... *running away*Previously on What are your controversial Star Trek opinions?:

Kirk's narrations are not breaking the fourth wall, because he is actually speaking those lines into the computer. in the process of recording his official logs.
I think it doesn't soar over anyone's head. I think they're trying to grab onto whatever they can find, and twisting it to try to make their argument work.Honestly, how did that soar over the head of anyone? Kirk is clearly stating he's making a "Captain's Log"--an official entry into the ship's recorders, not speaking to the TV audience--the latter case would be breaking the fourth wall.
Did you cartwheel across the floor?Twisted? How dare you, sir! I neither twisted nor turned... though I might've fandangoed...![]()
Isn't that where this thing started?I do think there's a handful of cases where TOS broke the fourth wall. Notably the episode where McCoy said he finally got the last word, looks directly into the camera and smiles.
That said. So what? It's a TV show.
Crusher narrates in "Suspicions"
O'Brien narrates in "Whispers"
Sisko narrates in "In the Pale Moonlight"
No, you were definitely Watusi-ing.Twisted? How dare you, sir! I neither twisted nor turned... though I might've fandangoed...![]()
