(WIP) Enterprise D Interiors

My god, I thought the first couple renders you posted were set photos or HD screengrabs, @Mr. Phreez! Seriously some impressive work on the level of Donny Versiga. The Roddenberry Archive folks would probably love your stuff.

As someone who's writing a fanfic which takes place aboard a Galaxy-class ship with the occasional scene set in Cetacean Ops, I would welcome these for potential reference material!

That is high praise, thank you! Donny is a huge inspiration for my work. Both him and Tadeo - I have studied their work and modeling techniques for awhile, so again, thank you for that complement!

It would be cool to do something like The Roddenberry Archives! What a dream come true. Its a small shot - but my goal is to someday do something, even if tiny, for the Star Trek franchise. Who knows, maybe in the future!

And I’ll be working on Cetacean Ops soon, so keep an eye on this thread.

UPDATE: Holodeck end of USS Enterprise D Hallway w/ Holodeck

Sooo. I worked way too long on this today. I am still working on finishing up this end of the hallway, the part that tucks around the corner that never gets seen still has to be done (thus no view of that direction yet).

However, here is a quick drop of what I have been working on today:

The holodeck was something I made in a previous project and imported in to add onto the hallways. I had a little resizing to do as I it was wildly out of scale. I've got to switch out the font on the arch LCARS interface - realized to late I have the wrong font in there. I'll do that tomorrow and upload a close-up.

Until then - Computer, end program.

@Mr. Phreez Is this the unsure area you're referring to?

It's the bit of hallway next to the cargobay doors, with the door that opens to the room connected to the crew quarters (often redressed for various sets like the morgue or the medical rehab room).
If so, I might have some references that could help

That is exactly the location! Any screenshots of that whole corner area would be wunderful. I came across some a week or so ago - and lost them. lol. Any help is appreciated!

@Tate Meyer - If standing and looking at the holodeck entrance. To your left is a turbolift on that angled wall. To your right is the nook with the two doors in it (the area you just provided me with) - are all three of these doors the same height or am I right and thinking the turbolift door to the left would be a shorter door?

Yes, I believe the turbolift door is about 80" tall, whereas those other doors are about 83"

@Mr. Phreez, stunning work! I'm filled with awe and envy when I see all you fine folks recreating these legendary sets. These corridors, these doors, the holodeck — all of it takes me back to my childhood and being fascinated with how futuristic everything looked and felt. And being able to recreate it to such a realistic degree and then basically walk through those places as if they were real must be such a special experience. I feel similarly – or maybe even moreso, if I'm to be completely honest – about the sets of Deep Space Nine, and I hope one of these days someone with your skills comes along to recreate those as well. I've often thought about maybe even commissioning someone like @Rekkert to recreate ops or something smaller, like maybe a runabout cockpit, but never got around to do so.

By the way, is that Moriarty's reflection in that Holodeck panel? Spooked me for a second there.

Thank you so very much for that compliment!

And yes, that is Moriarty’s reflection in the LCARS! I was hoping someone would catch that. Good eye. I believe he was just passing through as I was finishing up the render. Shouldn’t be anything to be concerned about, right?

In regards to the DS9 set. I was actually looking at the set blueprints the other day. I’m highly considering a DS9 project. But wow what an undertaking that would be. One of the lead designers for ST:Online had some nice blueprints up I found. I’ll have to hunt them down again.

If anybody beats me to the punch, good luck on the project!

Hello everyone! I hope you all had a great thanksgiving break, and are looking forward to Christmas - or any holiday you celebrate!

So MASSIVE update:

I've been busy finishing up some projects and I just wrapped up Part 1 of my Enterprise D Interiors which focuses on the hallways and corridors that are most famous from the show.

I had taken a little hiatus from doing Star Trek focused projects and spent some time working on improving my skills in realism. While it was great to set my mind to something a little different, I was really happy to get back to this project and finish it up.

These new renders have improved lighting to make things a little more dynamic and a lot of textures were enhanced or
changed to more accurately represent the ship as soon on TV.

@Tate Meyer - Thanks for hunting down those screenshots that helped me finish up the area around the holodeck. It was exactly what I needed. And - am I the only one who can't stop STARING at the huge gap to the right of the holodeck LCARS interface? Must have been for moving set pieces. But I wanted so bad to remove it and make the spacing like everywhere else. But - alas it is canon.

@Rekkert - You gave me a good tip on the little panel stickers. I changed the stickers that are in the silver/white section of the corridors to match the blue doors and door decals. Looks much better. Thanks for that suggestion.

On that note, here are some screen grabs of the finished project. (To see the entire project with over 30 renders, as well 4 different 360 panoramic shots, head over to my portfolio.)

Quick note: The turbolift is slightly modified from the TV version, and it will be adjusted in time to be accurate to the show, for now however I am using a version of the turbolifts that are being used for another version of the Enterprise D I am making from just after the events of Picard (this project may never be seen, I'll decide in time.)

Thanks for looking and don't forget to check out my portfolio for the full project. There was just too much to post here, and you don't want to miss the 360 panoramas!

Phreez, out.
