Black Widow definitely should have gotten her own movie long before it actually happened. Phase Two would have been a good time to do it. If it were up to me, I'd get rid of Iron Man 3 and replace it with Black Widow (which, obviously, would have turned out slightly different if it had come out in 2013 instead of 2021).
Thor 5 has reportedly been greenlit. Taika Waititi will not be back as director.

For sure. She was a spy who served as part of the glue, with Fury, that brings the Avengers together. That she gets one showing in Iron Man 2 and then she gets part of the Avengers?
Yeah, that merits a solo movie. Something more espionage driven, less so the brainwash school like the film she eventually got. Again, a poor substitute for a character who presents a heart to the Avengers as part of that team.
She was the glue.
She literally brought in Hulk, had Fury's ear, had the ties to Stark from his second movie and had the strong relationship and past with Hawkeye. The majority of the team was connected through and with her.
Cap and Thor were the outsiders in a way because of their lack of her connection. Which changed drastically in Winter Soldier when she became Cap's glue as well.
Really, Thor fit the least while she fits the most with everyone.

I almost (almost) feel sorry for these people who've devoted their lives to churning out fake scoops and guesswork. Must be hard to keep throwing this crap out even while Hollywood has ground to a halt.
The reaction the "fans" have had to every female led project says otherwise.
Even with Jessica Jones, the "fans" admitted they really only watched for David Tennant and stopped caring once he was killed off.
To be fair, there's only so much love to give to such an emotional black hole of a character.
Which is a shame, I LOVED Ritter in other projects.
This fan hated Tennant in that project and stopped watching because of him.
Funny how no one ever says you have to love a male charcter for something to be successful, only female ones.

You've got a point. The manner in which her character was treated in "Endgame" still irritates me to this day.
His Kilgrave had become increasingly annoying to me, as Season One progressed. I was glad to see him go. Mind you, I wasn't a fan of Season Two, but I certainly didn't miss him.
I didn't dislike Kilgrave because he was a villain. I simply found his character overbearing and annoying. I feel the same about a good number of protagonists.
I like both Carol Danvers and Natasha Romanoff. Also, Kevin Feige had assumed control of Marvel Films in 2015. It took him another three-to-four years to release "Captain Marvel" and another five-to-six years to release "Black Widow". And the handling of Natasha in "Endgame" still annoys me.

Not true at all. I stopped watching Breaking Bad when Walter became a monster.
And I hear often enough of people hating on Seinfeld, Curb, or It's Always Sunny because of how unlikable the characters are. And people didn't exactly rave about how amazing Iron Fist was (all complaints were about the very male lead), keeping it with the Netflix shows...
It's almost like there's a double standard to saying there's a double standard....
So over the last week a book came out called "MCU: The Reign of Marvel Studios" (book listing here) that's apparently a treasure trove of behind-the-scenes info. Including of course, glimpses and some explanations on just what the hell happened regarding everything we've seen with Phases 4-5 thus far. It goes as far back as Iron Man 1 all the way to Quantumania. One of the authors, Joanna Robinson, also revealed some further details that aren't in the book in an interview on The Watch Podcast.
-Chadwick Boseman, Tom Holland, and Brie Larson were originally going to be the new "faces" of the MCU. Feige & co knew full well that RDJ, Evans, and Hemsworth would eventually want to drop out of the MCU, and felt that new faces were needed to represent the MCU going forward. Originally the plan was going to be that those faces would be Boseman, Holland, and Larson.
Phase 4
-WandaVision creator and head writer Jac Schaeffer revealed that the reason why the finale was so underwhelming was because of all the last minute changes. That the finale was constantly in flux because of increasing changes. Which, given what we now know of Marvel's chaotic approach to development and always demanding sweeping changes at a minute's notice, might also retroactively explain why all of the other D+ shows were plagued with underwhelming finales.
-There was indeed a cut plotline from F&tWS involving a pandemic. Although it being dropped was not only due to the COVID pandemic itself, but also cancelled shooting locations:
-Confirmed that yes, there was a draft of NWH that was going to bring in Emma Stone's Gwen Stacy, Kirsten Dunst's Mary Jane, and Sally Field's Aunt May. But that this draft didn't make it out of the scriptwriting process, due to feeling that the movie was getting overstuffed with characters

-The reason that Feige didn't do anything to stop Victoria Alonso from getting fired off...was because of her breaking a cardinal rule at Marvel Studios. Specifically, "don’t speak out publicly against the company". And that what he was referring to...was Alonso publicly speaking against former Disney CEO Bob Chapek for his lackluster response to Florida's "Don't Say 'Gay'" bill from last year.
-Marvel execs were genuinely shocked at Quantumania's bad underperformance. That they orignally thought that "they had a banger".
Infinity Saga
-Edward Norton was apparently very difficult to work with when it came to the motion capture of Incredible Hulk. He was described as "wasn't really engaged" and "was not very present through the whole thing". To the point that the VFX team had to manually render all of his facial expressions.
-The only two actors who were allowed to read Endgame's full script was RDJ and Evans.

-In Sony's ASM-era Sinister Six movie, one script draft apparently involved...the Six and Spidey going to the Savage Lands and Spidey riding a dinosaur!

When I got around to watching Quantumania I was also surprised it wasn't a hit. Serious departure from the previous entries in the series, true... but I really enjoyed it.

To me the biggest realization from the MCU book was James Gunn's initial firing was largely because of Isaac Perlmutter, who was unhappy that Gunn was publicly feuding with Donald Trump on Twitter, and still had a ton of pull within Disney due to the large number of shares he held.
The freakout over what amounted to nothing, years prior, made zero sense. But now it does. It was all about spanking a director for getting too political.
