What are your controversial Star Trek opinions?

Even with 5 seasons, DISCO will still have fewer episodes than TOS.

I figured DISCO will either end with its 5th season or whichever one will give it their 100th episode. (Given the 5th season was made even shorter than the previous four, that would be 9 seasons total.)

Centuries of radiation exposure and cell mutation could produce the Remans. Dilithium mining isn't exactly the safest job in any quadrant and NEM revealed how toxic and dangerous continuous exposure to dilithium ore is.

I'm sure that's why the UFP converted to Hologram or Androids for mining.

(I don't blame Bakula or the other actors for ENT, the show sucked, imo, because of the writing and show runners, not because of them, but having them do it would be funnier than have Berman do it. I just don't ever want Berman anywhere near Trek again)

With all the discussion about Romulan History I keep wanting to shout "Has NO ONE read Spock's World / The Romulan Way?!?"

No. Why?

Because, in the era before TNG those two novels rank right up there with "The Final Reflection" for world building. Another novel, "Mt Enemy, My Ally" works along with "The Romulan Way" to define a rich back story and culture for the Romulans and, in my opinion, does a better job than we've seen from any Star Trek to date (or nearly so).

Another novel, "Mt Enemy, My Ally" works along with "The Romulan Way" to define a rich back story and culture for the Romulans and, in my opinion, does a better job than we've seen from any Star Trek to date (or nearly so).

Tbf ST doesn't really develop the romulans much so it's a low bar

One of the reasons ENT wasn't better than it was (it wasn't that bad IMO) was because after VOY UPN didn't want Star Trek, they wanted STAR TREK!!!! and B&B wanted to go another direction with it, but got hamstrung by UPN's demands. Could it have been worse without the network interference? Certainly. Could it have been better? MOST Certainly.
