ANNOUNCEMECT: Jammers last half season 4 reviews are up

I was really surprised he gave First Contact (The episode) 4 Stars. I think the others were pretty accurate, even though QPid has always been a bit of a family favorite for me. Kind of wish Redemption got 3 and a half stars though.

I disagree with a lot of his season four reviews.

Night Terrors is a 3.5 star episode
Half a Life is three stars
Qpid is three stars.

I'll save any further pontificating because as it were I just finished typing up the last of my thoughts on these very same episodes for Spider's "Journey" thread and will post them tomorrow since I need to get to bed and they are fairly lengthy.

I agree with pretty much all of the new S4 reviews, actually, and I am definitely happy to see First Contact get 4 stars. Like he says, I've always considered a vastly underrated gem and one of the best from the entire series' run.

If I had any quibble with these reviews, it's that The Drumhead is also easily a 4 star ep to me, and I'd knock The Nth Degree down to 3 or 3.5.

Can't wait for S5!

T think Nth Degree is 4 stars becaus:

1 It touches on the human condition, I mean when an act ends with the line, "you may be the most sophisticated human ever" that's saying soemthing

2 It features a textured performance from Barcley

3 It really takes us where no one has gone before..and it doesnt buy into the "evil scheme plot"

4 it almost makes the end of ST5 palatable

6. It was just entertaining to watch

Thanks for the heads up! As always, Jammer's competent reviews are a good read.

I disagree with his Q-Pid and Half a Life comments - I found them both rather excellent. fun and sad, respectively. I'd give each 3 and half stars.

But then, again, I'm reviewing those episodes.... Good work, Jammer.

Loved The Nth Degree.

I can't wait for his S7 reviews. Suddenly, no/1/2 star reviews - thousands of them.

Thats an exaggeration - but I agree, theres a good number of subpar episodes.

And yet, they're all still better than GEN! Especially the finale...

I can't wait for his TOS-related episodes reviews...

He's already done TOS reviews...I think he wrote them back when Sci-Fi first picked up the series. They're in the shorter format, one big paragraph per episode.

I was refering to the Spock, Scotty episodes on TNG, thus why I said TOS-related episodes. But you're right, I guess.

That said, wouldn't it be wise to re-review them? I mean, with the remastered versions, he might get a fairer chance at it, especially in episodes like "Balance of Terror" and "Conscience of a King".

Oh, I get it. That went completely over my head. Yeah I'm definitely also looking forward to his thoughts on those "event" episodes. One of my favorite TNG scenes is the historic (to us) meeting between Data and Spock, and the ensuing conversation.
