The Bath Thread

inner_sanctum_by_peachwookiee_d2dmj7b.jpg All right, everyone, humans have to bathe and some of us prefer to soak. So let’s talk about, and perhaps show off, where we like to bathe. The above photo is one of my tub 14 years ago. I’d take a pic of it presently, but as I’m in it, it’s probably NSFW to do so.

I always shower. I'm strictly no-frills - get in, get clean, get out, done. I don't relax in a bathtub (or indeed anywhere else).

Plus, if I tried to fit in a bathtub my knees would pass through my eye sockets.

Do you lean your head on the faucet? Ouch.
Nope! I set the candles around for the shot, but removed them for when I actually got in the tub, lol!
Being in the bathtub is something that helps keep my muscle tension in check most of the time. I like trying out different products to deal with that, as well as just taking needed chill time.

IMG_1185.jpeg My present state. I’m using Japanese bath powder and German (or possibly Swiss) arnica bath salts. I spent today scrubbing and painting things at work.

I haven't sat in a tub since I was six years old. I take showers. No washcloth, scrub brush, loofah, or other bathing paraphernalia. Just soap, shampoo and conditioner.

Maybe once every few months I might have a bath, but the bath in my house rather small. Plus it's hard to out of. Prefers showers.

For me a bath happens like every 5 years or more otherwise it is a shower over and over again...

There's gotta be something extremely wrong with being alone in my life and being around no one to get into a tub and sit..

The tub session starts with a shower first and I plug the drain.. then it fills up and I will sit in the tub while the shower is on...

I have fallen asleep once when I was tired and in a shower to wake up.. I just laid down and slept with the shower on, I was in college at the time.

Often sitting in the tub with the shower on I empty the water and start a new batch of water for my bath.. I eventually get so shriveled up I have to get out of the bath ..

Last place I lived, I took baths because it was mildew prone and my exhaust fan was broken, not a good combo. Current place, the tub's fine for a kid or a dog, but my 245 pounds doesn't fit, so I shower. But I prefer to swim or use the hot tub, which I consider getting clean.

A year ago I had all the plumbing in my house ripped out and replaced with new pipes. So now my upstairs shower is so powerful that if I leave my bathroom door open when I'm showering, the steam will set off the fire alarm.

So not only do I have to leave the door shut for about 15 minutes after I'm done, but I have to have a military-grade exhaust fan running as well.

I love baths. Epsom salt, vapor bath, hot water, cool drink, and low light.

I'll scrub off everything and feel much better. Been doing that since I was a teen, and while showers are the general way to get things done in a hurry but for pampering purposes? Bath all the way.

Tonight, I have my favorite bath bomb in the tub, along with a Starbucks drink and a cup of nettle tea (for dealing with bodily inflammation). My legs are tired this evening and my favorite bath bomb for such a night is something called Twilight. It’s got lavender and turns the water an amethyst color.
