You know what the worst part about Star Trek V: TFF is for me? It's that the whole movie felt utterly pointless. I mean, they go and try to find God, but the person they meet is not actually God and that's it. That's the entire movie. I know that in the epilogue of the movie Kirk mentions that maybe God isn't out there, but in the human heart. If that is the point of the movie then I wish they would've made that point a bigger part of the plot. All it gets is a passing mention. I don't blame Shatner for all of this though. I know his original idea was for Enterprise crew to meet the actual God (and devil) as described in the bible with God being an alien that created humankind, but Paramount wouldn't let him do that. But man, that would've made for an epic movie! Instead all we get was some weak alien that can be hurt by starship weapons lol.
