Tinman

I've toyed around doing a Wizard of OZ homage with Data as the Tin Man and Worf as the Cowardly Lion. No good analog for Scarecrow though. Wes as Dorothy and Deanna as Glinda.
Not a TNG character, but perhaps Neelix fits best as the scarecrow in want of a brain. Tuvix is the story where he acquires one, only to have the wicked witch take it away.

Barclay maybe for Scarecrow because he had that episode where he got really smart? Or you could do it ironically or humourously for someone like Riker, like how they did it for Fry in Futurama. Also you need an Oz!

I watched "Tinman" recently and I really enjoyed the bit where the Mayor is having an argument with Riker's thought!

Just to clarify: The posters who referred to Chinese translations and the band "America" were being facetious.

I was being dead dog serious. They refer to the DS9 wormhole as the "Ventura Highway" and to Seven as "Sister Golden Hair". Picard's horse is "Horse With No Name". That incident where Janeway and Paris got changed into animals and then did the wild thing? yeah, that's referred to as "Muskrat Love"

Gomtuu needed a heart, but the Feds were calling him Tinman, before they noticed that.

I always thought the nickname was accorded because it was Data hanging around Tam and it's Data who somehow can relate to both him and Gomtuu... and it's tin man Data who always wanted to be human..

The script talks about "the people" looking over data from the vega nine probe calling it Tin Man, so the namer is some bookworm in Stellar Cartography back on Earth with a Wizard of Oz Fetish.

Are you picturing the Delanny Sisters as two yellow brick road skipping Dorothies or as a Dorothy and an Elphaba, at each other's throats?

I'm not sure why, but I could see Geordie as the scarecrow. Maybe because of all the technobabble.

Ah! Mightily entertaining! Well done!

Now, can you point me to the Bearded Lady and the Two Headed Boy?
