Hated the video game cartoon adaptations at the time. They haven't aged well, but was amazed at how well-received they were at the time. Probably because they were more readily accessible than the actual games in the arcades or consoles at the time... (Why play Castlevania or Metroid when one can watch those instead, and drool over the fortified cereal of the same names? They did cost a bit back then... )
(yes kids, those hairdos were genuine... I was there, but just shy of being 70% less grumpy, but I digress. But was too nerdy to be that cool... or high off the hairpsray... that said, the SNES was pretty cool, but the original NES did have more fun gameplay... but I unsurprisingly digress within a digression from probably another digression, and was F-Zero there really cool or what? )
