Star Trek: Starships Model/Magazine Subscription

I had the “United Earth Intrepid” in my cart from this morning that I put in as a placeholder so I could enter my info in ahead of time for a quicker checkout and the queue had me too flustered to risk taking it out so I guess I’m stuck. lol.

I’m guessing it was put in for certain ships so they could check orders for bots and for people trying to order more than 2.

but at least I have what is basically my grail. I still want the LD Yosemite shuttle and that ugly as sin Enterprise F but I won’t lose any sleep if I don’t get them.

It's still odd to me that they limited the F302 to one per customer, but not Cerritos. Maybe they figured Stargate nerds wouldn't know that usually you only have 30s to try and buy most things and wanted to give them a chance.

I misunderstood the time and thought it was another hour :wah:

oh man, that stinks. Keep an eye on the MR Twitter account (if you can). They said they are verifying orders and if they have to reject any those ships will get put back on sale. They usually announce that only on Twitter.

I entered the code days ago, but didn't complete a purchase. When I ordered the F-302 today, the code was still there and the discount was applied.
That’s what happened to me last week with the Defiant shuttle. It looks like their cart system doesn’t clear your info even if it’s empty.

Damn, completely missed the new Cerritos drop. So they will definitely do another one of those next week? Or is that just a rumor?

Didn't they say there'll be a smaller regular-sized Cerritos at some point?
I recall that being said, yes. The odd thing about it, however, is that is the only ship I’m aware of that was never actually announced at one time by Eaglemoss. I followed the line pretty closely when it was in full production and, unless I really missed something completely (always a possibility), I never once heard anything about a small sized Cerritos until only a few of months ago after MR took over and when people here started talking about it. It’s completely new. So I’m wondering if it’s actually going to happen or not. Do real prototype photos exist of it that aren’t the large size version being called the small size?

Is there an MR news site showing their upcoming stock, akin to what EM used the HeroCollector site for? It could put a lot of rumors to rest.

This drop was the smaller sized Cerritos.

there’s another drop of the XL version sometime in August.

no, only their Twitter tells of approximate upcoming releases. They don’t want to be too specific because they’re never 100% sure what a drop will be until they get the stock at the warehouse. For instance, a few weeks ago their manifest said they were getting one ship, then when everything arrived and they opened the cases it was a completely different one.

The one yesterday was the "midsize" Cerritos, which I guess is like the Discovery/Picard ships. It's about 8" long.

The XL Cerritos is about 10". MR seem to have some more of them for later drops.

Correct, it'll be about the same size as Titan and Vancouver.

Speaking of Titan, after missing out on the original and supplemental drops of it, I was under the impression MR said it was unlikely they'd be getting more, so I bought one at inflated prices. Of course, about a week after receiving the ship, MR they tweeted "yay, more Titans!" So, I've been driving myself crazy since yesterday's drop watching Titan remain in stock.

yeah, I thought they said they were done and then boom they had another 1200 for this weeks drop.

it must be a real mess trying to organize the inventory. And they keep finding stuff, like the mid-sized Cerritos that few if anyone knew about. Or the Yosemite Shuttle that I don’t think Ben even knew made it into actual production.

Yeah, Robinson thought the Yosemite was only at the final test shot phase, so he gave Mike McMahan what he thought was one of few copies.

I feel there were a couple of others that were "final stock!" but then a ton more showed up.

Aww crap. I wanted the smaller one but thought there was going to be one at about 5in like the regular line so I didn't go for this one. Oh well... no Cerritos for me.

I had assumed that due to licensing they had to make all of the Kurtzman era ships "special/mid-size" like the Kelvinverse ones, while for STO and the older shows they could use the 5-inch size. However, Galactica and their other newer licenses all seemed to all be mid-sized, so I'm not sure they didn't just decide that was a better scale. I guess from a production standpoint, they probably didn't cost significantly more to produce, but they were sold for almost twice as much.

Well, I mean, sure... bigger models are always better*, and if they'd been "mid-size" from the beginning I'd have been just fine with that! I just don't want a foot-long Cerritos, of all ships, dominating the rest of my collection :wtf:

*Except the Enterprise-A.

Yeah, the small models made sense for the original magazine subscription, but when they switched to a direct storefront sales approach, the larger models will have had better margins. But even then it obviously became unprofitable for them when Covid lead to massive increases in shipping costs from China.
