Ships often replace their parts, so their could be damage old parts from destroyed ships say the Defiant and Enterprises A and C in storage or a junkyard that could be reduced to raw materials and added to the next version. Or they could just use debris from the destroyed ship.

I love that some part of the Enterprise F will be incorporated into the Enterprise G.

The Enterprise-G already existed as the Titan-A. So it wouldn’t have had any parts from the F.

Is it just me or do the live-action Cerritos uniforms have more of the black area (near the shoulders) than the animated versions do?

In animation, the division color goes almost all the way up and only ends a short distance below the neck. But in live action the color area ends like halfway up the front!

They could be added via retrofit, like they aren't going to turn it into the Flagship without upgrades. Hell maybe they could stuff the Aquiris into a modified shuttle bay.

It can only be a flagship while it has a... fleet captain on board? If they are trying to suggest it was a flagship the whole time, I would question the validity of the writers' assumptions. The D was more of a flagship - or rather a poster child for Starfleet - but Enterprise under Kirk was just one of a number of similar ships commanded by a fairly junior captain.

I always assumed the TOS Enterprise was the flagship when I was young so little or none of this has bothered me.

It's just a word they use. I think it just means "Enterprise". Or even "The ship that is the star of Star Trek."

In my own thoughts, the act of passing a piece of one ship to the next in line is a ceremonial gesture, almost like tucking a few trinkets into a building cornerstone to commemorate the occasion. I highly doubt that a part of the NX-01 would have any actual use aboard a far more advanced starship. I know it looks like it's serving a purpose under the deck in engineering, but I can't fathom what it would be.

So if that's the case, there could easily be a bit of the A in the B, B in the C, skip C into D until the changed timeline after "Tomorrow's Enterprise," then carry on from there down the line.

It could just be an long dormant and now inanimate piece of Trip's Engine Room that was clamped down under that deckplate. Made to look like it serves a function in the NCC-1701's Engine Room but it's just a decoration.

Then one would think the piece would be on display somewhere for all the crew to admire, rather than hidden under the floor where apparently nobody knew about it.

I guess the tradition also stipulates that only some of the crew know about it, for some strange reason. Ortegas certainly acted as if she wasn’t aware of it before.
