Damn that was fun! But also some surprisingly good drama, which I wasn't expecting. My heart broke for Christine in the turbolift. Uhura hasn't figured out yet that good ideas often come when you take a break, but since she said she's 22 and she just became an Ensign, it makes sense. Boimler telling Una about the poster almost had me crying. So lovely for her know all she's been through is worth it. Spock smiling like that does look disconcerting!

Yes. I was thrilled with how gorgeous she looks in animation.
I *might* put Charades as funnier on a purely "laughs per minute" basis. But this was brilliant.

Nah. Take Me Out to the Holosuite is just hilarious. I used to watch it when I felt low. It's still one of my favorite episodes and ranks right up there in the top five Trek comedies. The Magnificent Ferengi is also another really funny episode, as well as In the Cards, and A Piece of the Action. The one where Odo and Quark get stuck on the mountain was pretty good too, particularly the ending.

This ep, which it has funny parts, had sadness - reminding Pike of his fate, and more signs to Christine that her romance is ultimately doomed. Boimler was kind of sad to see at times, as he realized that he was living a dream, and still fucking up royally - still Boimler in any time.
We think, anyway. One might always headcanon that Boimler gets at that point that he’s telling her too much, and shuts up and leaves — thus not revealing that she eventually gets back together with Spock after Kirk’s apparent “death”, marries him and lives out the rest of her life with him. Or something. (Probably not the intent, but the wiggle room is there, should some future production decide to try to retcon it that way.)
I'm sorry. Wasn't the entire solution to defeating the robot overloads based on acting like idiots in Mudd's Women? Nevermind that was second Mudd episode, even so, come on man.

OF COURSE Frakes landed the freaking plane and gave us a fantastic episode. Number One has been on a role in nu-Trek this year.
This one is easily my favorite of the season so far. This one was funny, not stale-sitcom funny like Charades.
The animated opening credits rocked. Would love to see them stick…sans space squid…keep the koala though.
Funny that they gave Pike the same birthday issue Pine-Kirk had in Star Trek Beyond.
Boimler being the one that ultimately breaks up Spock and Chapel is so outta left field. Great body language from Bush in the turbolift scene. You could feel Chapel’s heart breaking.
Speaking of Spock, this happy, smiling version is creepy as hell when he emotes.
Loved Spock noticing how specific their references are.
Would have liked to see Mariner acknowledge Pelia because of course she is still alive in the 24th century and Mariner knows her.
Name checking the two most underutilized Enterprise crew members was perfect. Sort of how they got to be the “winners” in the Mirror episodes.
The bit with Una was a nice touch. Well…the heartfelt bit anyway. The “dirty” pinup thing was just awkward funny.
10/10 for me, the first 10 for me for SNW. I dunno if it was a “better” episode than Ad Astra per Aspera but I liked it more.

Man this is an instant classic for me. 10/10! It's funny and heartfelt; with love directed not just to Starfleet's "golden age of exploration" but also towards ENT; the animated segments are amazing as always with the portal transition between the two mediums alleviated by having the live action portal energy look a little animated and the animated portal energy look a little live-action-y; great music, direction and acting; and I loved seeing the SNW crew, Enterprise and space scenery in LDS art style in the opening titles and the final scene!

true, I just think it would be kind of a funny running joke to have Pelia keep showing up further down the timeline (insert scene of Pelia arguing with Stamets in Disco S5). And Mariner just knows her because she knows everyone it seems.
There was a lot there. I am not and am unlikely to be an LD fan even if I could get to see it. But Tawny Newsome and Jack Quaid got it just right (live acting a part you've developed in voice only must be tricky). And I loved the little weave-ins and that the SNW crew are fangirls of Hoshi and Travis.
And the "TOS Era" thing was chintzy but well done.

It was good but it should have been TAS style animation. Would have fit with LD when they were looking at TAS pictures of Spock and Kirk.This was also just perfect
