I do like that they gave us that little fact that each subsequent ship has a piece of the previous one used in its construction. Makes me wonder which piece of the -A was used in the construction of the -B.
Exactly what got me. I'm a self admitted NX-01 fanboy. It was..... nice to see it given such reverence. And yeah...... the look on Una's face....... yep.....Yes. The Star Trek Enterprise love and the story behind the Number One poster hit me in the emotions.
Trials and Tribble-ations did this much better. Sisko and Dax were geeking out but still maintained a level of professionalism. As for Boimler and Mariner, I'll just assume they die horribly on Frontier Day
The perpetual ensigns on Voyager and Enterprise indicate otherwiseEnsigns are supposed to be terrible.

That’s just mean.Trials and Tribble-ations did this much better. Sisko and Dax were geeking out but still maintained a level of professionalism. As for Boimler and Mariner, I'll just assume they die horribly on Frontier Day
It would have been out of character for them not to act like this.Trials and Tribble-ations did this much better. Sisko and Dax were geeking out but still maintained a level of professionalism.
No one is forcing you to watch it.And acting like they were part of a coherent universe that took itself somewhat seriously. I'm a third through this and I'm ready to turn it off and not bother with it. Half of what I hate about LD here in live action on a NuTrek series I DO like and annoying me.
Oil and water.
Square peg, round hole.
It's not working.
Pretty much my impression too on this one. I can't get into the LD characters or their humour, and this episode didn't change my mind sadly. There were bits I definitely liked, such as the conversation about birthdays. And the chat Boimler had with Ortegas and Chapel in the mess hall was cute, but for the most part this ep didn't click with me. The two shows are too far apart tonally and visually for it to gel together.Huh. Well, that was... something.
