MLB 2023 Season: Rangers are going hunting for Snakes

The Mariners have territorial rights to Portland.

When the A's move to Las Vegas, that will automatically become the smallest market in MLB.

I've said before that there is no straight shot to expansion. There are logistical or financial (or both) obstacles in every potential city.

I just read an online article in the Central Oregon Daily about the pros and cons of each proposed expansion city and the Nashville city council has already agreed to fund a new $1.5 billion football stadium for the Titans and therefore might be reluctant to shell out more taxpayers money to fund a baseball stadium unless the private partnership group agrees to fund part of the project.

Territorial rights are fucking bullshit and classist as hell. I'm so fucking sick of that excuse.

Within the same state (aside from the large ones) is somewhat understandable. Everything after that needs to fuck off.

Tigers throw the first combined no-hitter in team history, against the Blue Jays, no less. Win 2-0.

Sean Casey (the Mayor) is the Yankees’ new hitting coach.
I guess losing 2/3 to my Cubs is a qualifier for getting fired

Luis Robert (White Schlox), 25, injured himself while participating in the Home Run Derby on Monday night. So much for it being "all in fun".

Starr Insurance will pay the Yankees $25 million per year to have their name on their jerseys, the biggest jersey patch deal in baseball, topping the $18 million Mass Mutual is paying the Red Sox. The top deal in U.S. sports is the Golden State Warriors and Rakuten at $45 million. The Yankees were offered richer deals, but Starr was already a sponsor, is based in NYC and the CEO was friends with George Steinbrenner.

Nothing is more representative of modern MLB than the Yankees scrupulously managing their uniforms for a century only to slap a patch advertising the third-biggest flood insurance outfit in New York on there for peanuts.

DJ Stewart just misplayed a popup and it bounced off his glove into the stands for a ground rule double. Not quite as funny as a ball going off the player's head for a home run.
