What are your controversial Star Trek opinions?

I'm not surprised at Jellico fandom. Jellico is awesome. That's the magic trick of the episode: Show you the guy that you're supposed to not like, show why Our Heroes don't even like him, then show why they were wrong.

And hey, Jellico finally got Troi wearing the space suit, which even Sirtis says changes how she was written for the better. Jellico for the win!

He sure got "plenty of sex" with Beverly over the years off-screen ^_-

And plenty of fighting within the show.

Now for him & Orla Brady's character to have a young ½ Romulan / ½ Human child of Laris & Picard.

This way we can have the 3 Siblings who are all related to each other as ½ Siblings.

Wesley Crusher, son of Beverly Howard & Jack R.Crusher,
Jack Crusher, son of Beverly Crusher (née Howard) & Jean-Luc Picard
The future (½ Romulan, ½ Human) child of Laris & Jean-Luc Picard
A nice 20-30 year age gap between each child would be interesting to see.
By 2401, Wesley Crusher would be 53 y/o
Wil Wheaton being 51 y/o IRL isn't a far cry to portray a 53 y/o Wesley Crusher.

By 2401, Jack Crusher would be 20 y/o.
35 y/o Ed Speleers portraying a 20 y/o is "Stretching It" (Definitely Dawson Casting).

By 2402/2403 we could have a young toddler for Laris, JLP, & Beverly to look after while a Time-Traveling Adult Future version of said child comes back in time like "Future Trunks" from DBZ to avert a potential disaster. This allows you to cast a 20-30 y/o to portray the "Future" iteration of said child.

What are you doing?

Not only is there a pinned thread at the top of this forum with clear information about spoilers, but I intervened with someone else who posted spoilers just 2 posts before you!

Next time you'll get a formal warning.

I must have seen a different episode. In the one I saw, Jellico was terrible, too busy doing internal decoration rather than readying the ship for battle, needlessly hiding information from his senior staff including his first officer (the guy who is supposed to take over should Jellico get injured), making arbitrary changes to the functioning of the ship on a whim without even discussing it with his first officer etc

Some possibly controversial opinions:

1. Bajorans, Betazoids, Denobulans and Trills designs aren't super interesting and wouldn't actually be hurt by a slight redesign. A different skin color at least would be something more than just forehead ridges or slight spots.

2. Recent Trek has a bunch of semi-interchangeable Federation starship classes

3. Cloaking technology thematically befits Cardassians more than Klingons

Probably not as controversial:

4. Star Trek does a weak job of elaborating on races within the Federation aside from Vulcans.

Controversial?
Sometimes it feels like a small bump on actors forehead, or some similar minuscule thing isn't enough to make that actor look or feel like an alien.

I don't really disagree. Klingon, Cardassian, Bolian and Ferengi designs all look more alien than Bajoran or Denobulan ones.

I don't think DS9 and VOY need a HD remaster. I mean, I wouldn't complain if they were, I just don't view it as necessary. I just really don't think SD looks that bad, especially when it comes to DS9 and VOY, as they were shot on film.

I like humanoid Aliens, but yeah, Betazoid and Bajor ans are too human looking.

The episodes never show them to be wrong, though? He's not really all that competent.

And I still say Troi switching into a uniform should have been a decision she made herself, not something she was told to do.

It wasn't until well after TNG ended its run that I even realized Betazoid eyes are all black (the irises). I NEVER picked up on that.

Then again, I also didn't initially get it that Bjayzl from PIC is also Agent Khoury from NCIS: New Orleans. So I'm hardly the most observant guy in the world.
