Lanthanites and Pelia - speculation

I loved her first thing.
She reminds me of one of my Irish aunts who speaks fluent Spanish.
The older she got the more grumbly her voice got and when she would mix the two languages when yelling at me for whatever, it always sounded alien to me.
I'd laugh and say what did you just say Aunt Sheila and then she'd go off on a full spanish rant at me.
Then give me a cookie.
:)

(sadly, Aunt Sheila died last month at 98 years old)
Sorry for your loss

I came here to post that exact video. Also note, Celia is wearing a SF delta on her necklace.

I stand corrected, she's # ### years -> ## ### years old.

So they stated that her species lives in the "Thousands" of years old.

Some people have asked "why couldn't they have used El-Aurians instead of Lanthanites?" Aside that it would have just made Pelia SNW's version of Guinan (except with a tool belt), I think it's not that implausible that the El-Aurians weren't the only extraterrestrials living secretly among Humans. While first contact was officially in 2063, Earth likely had been unknowingly home to a number of extraterrestrials for many centuries, if not a few millennia.

Earth may have been the Galaxy's equivalent of Portland, Oregon--a relatively quiet place where people could just kind of disappear among the locals and lay low for awhile...
The dream of the 2190s is alive in Portland!

That'd be easy to accept. She was on board Pike's Ent, Archer's Ent, the World War II CV-6 Ent, and also she was on board the CVN-65 Enterprise when Chekov and Uhura snuck on board to steal precious photons. ;)
With that accent? I mean they weren't kind to Chekov.

As for Flint: If Lanthanites originated on Earth, he could have been one, but he's probably not. IIRC, McCoy said that Flint lost his immortality when he left Earth.
Flint left Earth permanently and from the way Dr. McCoy describe it, lost his immortality over time.

Pelia can probably come and go for extended periods without losing that part of her biology.
She says she's been teaching WARP Drive classes for some time when she figures out the fake breech is going on, so she's obviously been on starships away from Earth before for Engineering training missions.

Perhaps she even knows her long life will dwindle if she leaves Earth for too long.

As I posted elsewhere, Carol is saying in interviews that Pelia is thousands of years old.

So how many of these Lanthanites are on Earth and how long have they been there? Because in other franchises even a small number of immortal people overseeing Earth for thousands of years already puts them into Illuminati/secret society territory, usually as a force of evil.
