what is the time period at season 1 of The Mandalorian

Is it around the time of Star Wars: Episode 2, Attack of the Clones?

if not, can someone explain the timeline?

because when they show Mark Hamill at Season 2, last episode, the time line doesn't seems to add up.

Luke Skywalker never meet Yoda, not to mention baby Grogu until Episode 6, Return of the Jedi, so we have this face that doesn't really look like Luke Skywalker, unless they make it look like a young version of Luke Skywalker. But a young ver. of Luke couldn't have known Grogu, as they said Grogu comes after Yoda

I'm totally lost

so the timeline really doesn't make sense. In the last episode of Season 2, did they make Luke looks younger? Or is it just a poor face lift special effect that was meant to be the Luke Skywalker at the age of 5+ after Return of Jedi, but the special effect team screw up?

I ... I don't understand your question at all. People don't tend to age dramatically in five years unless they have a pretty significant alcohol or drug abuse problem, and the CG Luke, while going well into the uncanny valley, doesn't look younger than he did in Return of the Jedi. (His face is rounder, for example, which tracks, since by at that point Luke is in early middle age.)

I mean, hell, I'll be 39 in a little under two months, and checking myself against photos from 2018, the only difference is that 1) I've lost about eighty pounds and 2) there's a lot more white in my beard.

Anyway, the timeline of The Mandalorian being set five years after the Battle of Endor is established in literally the very first episode of the show.

Luke hadn't even been conceived at that point, much less born.

Luke met Yoda in Episode V, and didn't meet Grogu until The Mandalorian.

this is true

It makes perfect sense. The events of Mando season one take place five years after Return of the Jedi. The Luke we see in the season two finale has a costume and CGI face based on how he looked the "last" time we saw him in Jedi.

It's just poor FX. it's better in later episodes.

being too lazy to start another thread, what is the beginning of the time period of season 1 of The Book of Boba Fett?

Also, are these 2 series the only star wars series release in episode format? not counting the cartoon style such as clone war

Book of Boba takes place after season 2 of Mando. Then season 3 of Mando comes after that.

Andor is also an episodic live action Star War. And Obi-Wan Kenobi. And the upcoming Ahsoka.

you're right, I forgot about Obi-Wan, and I have seen that series. I'll check out Andor, thanks for the tips

P.S. Ray Stevenson dies, did they have to change the script after the first episode?

We don't know yet. I image there will be a dedication to him, but we don't know if his character dies, or if the character was suppose to stick around as of yet.

They haven't even announced a season 2 for Ahsoka at all yet (though it seems to be a given based on some BTS stuff) so there's no telling how far along they are with that right now, let alone what if any adjustments would need to be made. I'd be willing to bet it's mostly already written at this point, or outlined, at the very least.
But again, without knowing what happens to that character in season one, there's no way to tell. Wait and see.

And? Even if a second season is a shoe-in, they're at least a few months away from production. The strike could be over by then. Even if it's not; at worst, the strike delays things a bit. No big deal.
