Arthur C. Clarke passed away at age 90

One of the great Sci-fi writers of the 20th century, Arthur C. Clarke passed away in Colombo, Sri Lanka today at age 90.

Clarke was the author of 2001: A Space Odyssey and the sequels, plus other science fiction novels and short stories.

While 2001 broke new ground, to me, Rendezvous with Rama was probably his best work. A great man.

Thank you! I hesitated before posting the news of Clarke's death here, but I figured the majority of posters on Fan Fiction were familiar with Clarke and his work.

My favorite too. Then, Imperial Earth. Then Rama. Invented commsats.

Any sufficiently advanced technology is, to a less advanced society, indistinguishable from magic.

Probably not word-for-word but close enough. What a writer. RIP
