This is a good find and well-remembered; I completely forgot about this. If memory serves there are phaser emitters on the outside of the nacelle struts just after the upward turn of the curve. I might be wrong!

You're Correct! They're mounted on the outward curve of the Warp Nacelle's pylons.

I really wish the Phaser Emitters on the top of the Warp Nacelles for the later Galaxy Variants were kept as standard.
That's actually a notice-able blind spot in firing arc coverage and a easy way to vent the extra EPS if you don't want it to go towards the Warp Nacelles.
It's also a easy way for the Warp Nacelles to defend itself since it has no dedicated defensive Phaser Arrays just for it's own usage.

Man I can't decide if I really love or really hate the Ross class, haha...

I like most of it, my main issue is that the saucer should've had the same outter diameter as the Galaxy Class' saucer diameter on the widest point of the ellipse.

It doesn't feel like a Galaxy Class if you don't match that raw width.
It feels more like a upgraded Ambassador class using aspects of the Galaxy and Sovereign Tech trees.

I thought the same thing about the Ambassador Class!

It's funny how we can be with ships. Our eyes get used to them after a while and then they become so normal looking to us. I remember being a kid and first seeing a picture of the E-D on the back of a Cheerios box and thinking how ugly and weird/strange it was (I was a big TOS and 1701 refit/A fanboy in 3rd grade, haha) but after falling in love with TNG and spending 7 seasons and some extra bonus time with it it's hard to imagine a *more normal* looking Enterprise!

As I mentioned earlier, the beams are coming from the upper inside of the pylons. But not the first, or only, sloppy CGI they ever did.

Ha, too true! I am still salty about the phasers coming out of the torpedo tube in Darmok. Although in the remaster they cut that, didn't they?

I've always loved the Enterprise-D since the first time I've laid eyes on it as a wee little lad.

I thought the Refit Connie was beautiful, than I saw the Enterprise-D and it made the Refit Connie look ancient in terms of architectural design.

The Galaxy Class has all the right curves IMO.

    Another VFX mistake.

Hopefully, future Star Trek shows uses a Video Game engine like UE5 and have programmed logic as to where everything should fire or launch from.

There's a predefined location for literally every effect.

This way, you don't have VFX Artist screwing things up and you only have to worry about positioning the camera and directing the action.

Literally, the only thing that the VFX Artist should worry about is where to place the ship, what to target, what flight path, and let the computers take care of the rest.

Everything else in the ship will be simulated as if it were a Real Space Battle Simulator.

Yeah, they replaced it with this shot. The shot of the saucer is reused from from BOBW

Was the Ross class in a Ships of the Line calendar? I seem to remember seeing a similar ship being chased by a Borg cube into a planet's atmosphere.

Galaxy is still ugly. 30 years after watching TOS and TNG and I still have that opinion. It's not normal.

I am reminded of the old joke about vegans, but modified for Trek fans:

Q: How do you know if a trek fan doesn’t like something in the franchise?

    A: Don’t worry, they’ll tell you

Indeed. Plus someone has to break the community expectations.
