Spoilers Starship Design in Star Trek: Picard

I continue to insist that Captain Seven should have been given a size upgrade to Odyssey-class for her well-deserved promotion.

And having the Enterprise-F launch in 2402, similar to its STO origin in 2409, would give more breathing room for the G, H, and I before the J. The A and D's short tenures are not good writing precedents to repeat when the J is supposed to be around circa 2554.
I agree wholeheartedly. We could’ve seen the Enterprise-E decommission and being compromised by the Borg, explaining why the TNG crew had to ride the Big D. The F could be a brand new ship that’s been under construction while the E decommission was prepared.

Everyone keeps mentioning the Enterprise-J, but there's no guarantees it even exists in the Prime timeline: it only existed in a timeline where the Expanse kept growing bigger and bigger from the size it was in the 22nd century until it covered something like 50,000 light years. Since the Expanse was dissipated in "Zero Hour", none of that came to be.

I'd imagine the 22nd through to the 26th centuries would be very different from what we know them if the Expanse had kept getting bigger, so the Enterprise lineage could have looked completely different in that timeline. So there's no need to adhere to the E-J existing in the 26th century.

Going back to calculating the size of the supercube...

I've noticed during a rewatch that during the supercube's destruction it seems to start to break up into lots of smaller cubes. Presumably therefore it's reasonable to assume that it's formed from a lot of regular cubes aggregated together. Since the sections it's breaking up into aren't all the same size I looked for the smallest cube size we see during the breakup and assumed this was the standard 3km Borg cube, with the larger units being groups of multiple cubes that were retaining some cohesion.

If we do this then it turns out the side length of the Borg supercube is... approximately 47km. Well well well. What an interesting number...

If the supercube were made of multiple cubes docked together like building blocks it would explain why it has internal weapons. It would also explain why it has such large internal voids if regular cubes were missing or cannibalised.

Has anybody tweeted the staff to ask about the Cube size yet?

STO opted to interpret that the Sphere Builders tried an Expanse yet again, and CBS Paramount did not stop them for their presentation.

Daniels lied (how the bloody hell could schoolchildren be allowed to build temporal communicators?), omitted (left out the Suliban's sponsor existed in a time long after Kirk's Enterprise could time-travel on its own), or exaggerated (Klingons joining the Federation is ridiculously far off from Archer's Federation) many things to Archer. I want the Enterprise-J to exist as notionally teased.

If Daniels is born in the timeline where the original Expanse kept expanding, and continues to exist after Archer & co wiped the Delphic Expanse, then the circumstances of the historic Battle of Procyon V turn out similar.

*scribbles notes about marching for world peace*

Secondary importance:

*scratches pen hard into paper about starting a petition to get rid of the Neo-Mega-Constitution Whatchamacallit XXCVI Class if there's a sequel*

*wipes ink off my face*

The end.

We don’t know how Daniels’s time travel technology works. For all we know he’s surrounded by a shield where changes in the timeline don’t affect him.

I was thinking about Enterprise-E fans and what they might be thinking about the non-revelation of the ship's fate. Because there's definitely fans that came into the franchise through the TNG films, just like how I came into the franchise through the TOS films. For me the TMP Enterprise and NCC-1701-A are my ships. I went off on a tangent that if they'd done a Kirk series in say 2011 it'd be like if the TOS Enterprise turned up at the end of the series to save the day. Then I realised that would probably be pretty cool :D. (Also, with all the stuff replaced during the refit, is it possible they could have rebuilt the NCC-1701 using replacement parts? The nacelles and bridge probably still exist somewhere...)

Maybe the Ent-G jumps ahead several decades, forcing the Ent-F back into service for another 25 years.

Do the Nova-class, Prometheus-class, and Dauntless-class Federation ships and Vor’cha attack cruiser from that future not exist either? Since they were also featured in the same Expanse-enveloped future as the Ent-J.

They exist in the 24th century of the prime timeline. They also existed in that alternate 26th century future, until that future was erased. Just like how the Enterprise-D exists in the 24th century of the prime timeline, and also existed in the late 24th century of the AGT timeline with an extra nacelle and phaser cannon under the saucer, until that future was erased.

I think the E-J will just depend on what some showrunner wants to do when they get to that point. E-J existed in some future as a successor to an NCC-1701 so it's not unreasonable that it could exist in the real universe too.
