It wasn't the Trek line that sunk the company by all accounts. They'd overextended with dozens of lines.

My XL Disco arrived today and looks great! Happy to have this, I always loved the brutalist seventies design of the ship, and the refit did not appeal in the same way.

Per Ben the Trek line was over all healthy (some things weren't successful, the discovery Klingon ships being one example, but overall successful).

But over extending product lines, and of course having to deal with the existing debt, that normally would get paid off but thanks to the pandemic,, and especially everything getting closed down hard in China, if they couldn't make or ship products their only revenue was existing supplies in locations outside of china. Not enough to cover debt payments, and when you delay those penalties and interest will kill you.
