Spoilers "That was not my fault".

I'm of the opinion that the Enterprise E really was involved in the battle in Prodigy's finale and it was either destroyed or so severely damaged Starfleet decommissioned it. It would fit, and it really wouldn't be Worf's fault.

This is my head canon. This is the way. I have spoken.

Timeline might line up. Maybe F is launched in 86-87, explaining why it's already getting decommissioned.

I still don't understand why the F is being decomissioned early for "computer reasons" yet seems perfectly capable of doing everything all the other ships are doing in Frontier Day

I'd like a story when it ultimately ended with the ship jumping through time / shifting dimensions etc. and was abandoned, and you could make a follow-up episode/movie where it appears again. But maybe that's too fan-fiction(ish).

Post-scarcity. No resource shortages means they can constantly replace the fleet with more state-of-the-art ones
The Dominion War saw saw them deplete their old stock of patched up Mirandas and Excelsiors at last, and finally have to really build a new fleet. Looks like they never stopped, afterwards. Leaves those few interim designs as a bit of a rarity.

Starfleet's quality control in this era is terrible. I mean they're already on a Voyager B despite Voyager A only just having been launched in the Prodigy finale.
If the A gets used for the rescue of Captain Chuckles, it may get flat-out destroyed. There's no real history there anyway.
