What are your controversial Star Trek opinions?

Oh, DSC Season 1 was the worst of the century before this. You know how bad PIC Season 2 had to be for me to rank the Klingon War arc of DSC above it?

:scream:

Season 2 was better thanks to Pike and the Enterprise but Control was somehow even dumber and more pointless than the Klingon War, and don't get me started on Section 31. Goes to show you can get a better year of Trek out of being dumb so long as you have the right characters and actors.

Season 2 of Discovery is one of those times where I really want to like it, because it definitely has good elements, interesting ideas, and good performances, but I just can't because of some of the story decisions that were made which made everything seem really dumb.

Perfect example is the battle between the Control fleet and Discovery and Enterprise. Everything builds to that, and I want to like it, but they do the whole thing in the stupidest way possible where it's such a visual mess that's hard to keep track of what's going on, while also not really fitting with the way combat has been done in Star Trek.

It amazes me it took until Season 3 for the showrunners of Discovery to realize we wanted long, sweeping majestic shots of the ships, not frantic shots at weird oblique angles.

I'm not sure who "we" is, but I really enjoyed the battle in "What Sweet Sorrow, Parts I & II." I like a combination of long, sweeping majestic shots and frantic shots at weird, oblique angles.

We did?

I didn't.

How do I keep missing these polls!?!?
I liked the callbacks to the Sanctuary Districts of 2024, Gary Seven and Khan but damn, was Season 2 a bigger mess than should have legally been allowed.
When did we pass that law?

For reasons I won't get into, I gave up easy fast plastic card online payments which kind of puts all the streaming services including Star trek behind a firewall I don't care to climb over.
Those easy don't worry about it auto pay services automatically subject you to new terms and services simply by making the next payment.
From experience I know how all these polls could have been taken and laws passed without anybodies consent.
You'll only be informed should you cross the forbidden line.

Perhaps I can help you there...

I've said it before and I'll say it again: PIC S2 didn't work as well as it should have, but it also deserves to be graded on a curve because it was produced under the truly extraordinary circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic, before its 80-year-old star or the rest of the cast and crew could obtain a vaccine.

Entirely agree. I suspect that if COVID wasn't a thing season two would have looked VERY different.

Close but the message needs to be contained in a 43 page micro font document.
